Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was a great book. It was really exactly what I expected to read, plot twists and all. There were only a couple suprises in it for me. When I closed it I felt like the series was complete and I had my ending at last. It is hard to say much more on the topic however without spoilers and if you have yet to read it, I would hate to spoil the book for you.

JK Rowling is a good children/young adult author however I am seeing a sad trend in young fiction. Most of these authors are writing to a formula and there is very little about their writing that is inventive. I would love to see more depth in kids literature. You can have a series without the same outcome over and over again. I'm as much a sucker for happy endings as the next guy but when you can literally see the formula these authors used to write their books it can become a little difficult to remain focused. I would love to see an inventive wizard book, not another knock off of Harry Potter and the Scorcer's Stone. Or I would love to see an orginal vampire book, not another knockoff of Twilight series. At least Meyer created an orginal series. Rowling's books are formulated from start to finish. Deathy Hallows only breaks her mold slightly. Don't get me wrong. I LOVED the book but I would like to see some more inventive writing please!!

Happy Reading!!
