What does my dad mean to me?
66
My dad is one of my favorite people in my entire life. He is the smartest person I know and I love him so much.
I have always been a "Daddy's Girl" from the day I was born. I am nothing like my mom. I may have inherited her smile and her skin tone but in every other aspect, I am exactly like my dad. We are stubborn, always right, loud, energetic, perfectionists who want to help anyone and everyone that we can possibly help. I look like him, I act like him, I'm just like my dad and I'm glad that I'm like him and not like my mom.
My dad has always supported me for as long as I can remember. While my mom wanted me to play piano, my dad coached my soccer team even though his first soccer experience was my kindergarten soccer team. Somehow, he managed to cater to what I wanted to do and he never missed a soccer game. As I got older, he found a barn for me to start taking lessons at. He also found a travel soccer team for me to play for and drove me to every game, which was no small feat.
Most girls find it easier to talk to their mothers as they are of the same gender and have gone through the same things. However, I have never found that true. I have found it easier to talk to my dad about my period than my mom. I am able to talk to him about problems with my friends, problems with boys, and problems with myself. He gets me. My dad gets me so well.
I love my dad.

Awww that was lovely, I have a daughter myself who I do everything for and we are more like friends. Your dad would be really proud of that hub, made me smile.

You're really blessed with a sacred bond Dana. My daughters do not have it so well with their father, who is very conditional and emotionally unavailable
