Mount and Blade - A Medieval RPG with No Storyline

Back in 1985 I wrote my own strategy and tactics game called "Facing the Empire"; the audio story from my game is on my web site.

Strategy and tactics will always be my first love when it comes to computer games.

I like a good combination of strategy, tactics, development, and action in an role playing game (RPG) setting. I like the challenge of gathering the things you need. The game “Mount and Blade” (TaleWorlds Entertainment and Paradox Interactive) combines an excellent simulation of medieval combat on horseback with the ability to do a variety of things such as being a goods merchant.

Another feature that I find special about this game is there is no story line. The player starts in the middle of the map and they can roam as they will. You can trade goods, help poor villages to improve their lot, become a bandit or become a bandit hunter. Those are just of few of the choices and one character can do them all in combination. Later you can become a vassal to a king and acquire villages and a castle of your own or you can take up the cause of a noble in exile.

Since the game has no story line; it has no end. You can keep playing the game as long as it remains enjoyable without starting from the beginning or going back to a saved game. It has a very realistic feel and I am waiting for a sequel. If I ever buy a game at full price; it will be a sequel to “Mount and Blade”.

These are my novels; please check them out.
