What is Hemorrhoid and its Treatments?
48Hemorrhoid does exist and affects at least 40 percent of the adults. They are painful inflammation of rectal veins and hemorrhoid sufferers do not have any idea as to what treatment to do for the condition. The painful swelling and inflammation is usually found around the anus and probably the lower rectal area. The possible cause of hemorrhoids is excessive straining while bowel movement. Other possible causes of hemorrhoid emergence are aging, pregnancy, constipation, and diarrhea. This medical condition can be external (outside the anus or rectum) or internal (inside the anus or rectum).
Hemorrhoid chooses no gender. Whether you are a male or female, you have same chances of getting hemorrhoids. The condition is more common to people at the age of 50 and above and also to pregnant women.
For pregnant women, the cause of hemorrhoid is the constant pressure by the fetus plus the hormonal changes. These condition triggers veins in the anus to swell. It is a comfort for pregnant women however, that hemorrhoids cease by the time of delivery.
Almost all medical treatments in the market today are targeted at the early levels of hemorrhoid only. The use of hemorrhoid ointments and suppository relieves the itchiness of the swelling area but only for a small period of time. Others recommend frequent warm tub baths to target the rectal area but still for a brief relief.
If you want to prevent hemorrhoids from forming in your body, avoid too much exertion or straining on your anus during bowel movement. If you are currently suffering from it, you are recommended increased intake of food with dietary fiber and eight glasses of water everyday. Consuming both will help in the digestive process and lessens the need of straining during bowel movement. The next time you visit the comfort room, put in mind to take it easy and don't push yourself too hard.
The most annoying symptoms of hemorrhoid outbreaks are itching and irritation. The symptoms are normal if you have an outbreak and should heal in 2 to 4 days.
Not all hemorrhoid victims experience the same symptoms but majority of them observe blood in the stool or tissue wipes. This can be a sign that the hemorrhoid is internal. External hemorrhoid on the other hand has visible lumps around the anus and is much painful. If the pain becomes unbearable, consult the physician immediately.
