The Action

A battle in League of Legends:Clash of Fates

LoL:Clash of Fates

League of Legends: Clash of Fates is a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena game similar to the custom map "DotA" in Warcraft 3. It was developed and published by Riot Games for Microsoft Windows. The game is totally free no costs whatsoever. The game is currently in closed-beta. You may obtain a beta-key from the link below.

Basics

There are several game modes and maps that are under development and will be useable either before or after the official release. The current beta has only a single map: Summoner's Rift. Your team's champions start in your base. You fight together against enemy champions, minions that are constantly spawned, and enemy turrets. The point of the game is to destroy the enemy teams Nexus or to have the other team surrender. Towers can not be built by players, only destroyed. Turrets do not respawn, but Inhibtors do. There are three lanes in the entire map. Each lane has 3 turrets. The Nexus is surrounded by 2 turret towers. The farther you go in the lane the stronger the turret is. The game is always played 5 on 5. If you leave during the match it counts as a loss, but you can re-launch the client and re-connect to your game if it's still playing.

Summoners

Champions are called forth by the player, represented by a Summoner. The Summoner (You) tracks statistics and scores for each player. At the start of each game, every player can choose a champion for him to fight. There are over 40 champions to choose from. After you select a champion you are allowed to choose two abilities that will be added to your champions regular abilities. As the champion levels, it gains permanent health, mana, and statistical boosts. It also gains ability points which it can use to learn new abilities are unique to each champion. Champions gain gold for killing minions, other champions, and buildings. The gold may be used to purchase items that give statistical boots and abilities. Experience is gained from killing minions and other champions.

Once the match is over, the Summoner gains experience and influence points. Experience points allow the Summoner to gain increased powers, while influence points allow the Summoner to gain access to new champions and power ups for use in future fights.

There will be a Summoner profile available to the player that keeps track of the player's stats such as wins and leaves - losses are currently only visible to the player, experience, level, rune summary, recent match history, owned champions and available champions, and most played champions.

Runes

The Summoner can equip Runes to increase their champion's capabilities. There are 4 types of Runes: "marks (offensive Runes), seals (defensive Runes), glyphs (magical ability Runes), and quintessence (powerful all-purpose Runes). Also, there are 3 tiers of Runes; the higher the tier, the more powerful the Rune's effect. Summoners are able to use a rune per level of power in League of Legends, and they keep their Runes in a tome called a Runebook. Before a match begins, a Summoner will be able to choose from three different rune configurations they have previously set in their Runebook. You can also combine 5 runes from one tier to obtain a higher level tier Runes.

You gain mastery points each time you level up. You level up by playing games. These masteries can be changed later if you wish to.
