What is a 3G network?
Lately, the world has been inundated with the term 3G network. You see it everywhere from the Internet to the television, even on the radio. But what is a 3G network? What does it have to do with you? The 3G network is currently the highest speed possible for wireless communications among the general consumer. Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless all utilize 3G transmission for their higher end phones. Phones like the Blackberry Storm and the iPhone take advantage of the higher speed 3G network for everything from calling to using the Internet on them.
What are the benefits of using a 3G network?
Unless you have a 3G-capable phone, you cannot take advantage of the network. If you do have a phone that can do it, then you are automatically using the 3G network. By using it, you are utilizing the highest data transfer possible between cell phone towers, satellites and your cell phone. This means that you have the fastest response time possible when using your phone and it connects to the 3G network. 3G transfers packets of data to and from the source and phone faster and more securely than any other network used by cell phones on today's market.
Does using a 3G network make a difference?
Using the 3G network does make a huge difference in what you can do with your cell phone. When you use a faster network, you have a quicker response time from your phone. This means that something as easy as making a call, to using GPS or even the Internet is faster. It also means that you do not have to worry about dropped calls, lost signals or more when using your phone on a lower speed network. As long as you use a phone capable of 3G speeds, you can take advantage of the 3G network and beyond as new developments are made that eventually with bring ups 4G and more.
