What is an Intuition
59The 6th Sense
Some people are said to be very intuitive and others are absolute block heads. So what makes the difference? Strange as it may sound, I feel that the people who are more intuitive are actually more caring and vigilant.
For instance why is it that a mother will always rush her
child to the loo even before the child says so? She is said to be
intuitive, but in actual fact she is caring for her child and is
vigilant about all the expressions on his face and so is able to catch
him out before anyone else can, and rushes him to the loo.
How
about making difficult choices based on intuition? Should I buy these
shares now or wait for a ay more for the prices to come down? Why is
your brilliant stockbroker so intuitive about the market?
He is
concerned about the money he is investing on your behalf and his own
reputation in the market. He also reads every script and monitors all
market fluctuations on a daily basis in a very dedicated manner. All
the information he gathers is stored in his head and he doesn’t realize
why he wants to wait one more day, but intuitively knows that it is the
right choice.
Some people are said to have a “black tongue” or
kaali zuban. Whatever they say off the top of their mind tends to come
true. When your neighbour says don’t go to the market today, it’s not
worth going. How do you react? What’s worth going or not worth going to
the market on a particular day, you head out anyway.
For some strange
reason none of the chores you set out to do can be accomplished that
day and you come back convinced of your neighbour’s intuitive powers.
She probably read about the unrest in the city a day before and
subconsciously applied it to your chore list and realized that it would
not be accomplished and asked to not to waste your time and effort.
This
so called sixth sense or intuition is one that can be developed by
anyone. Yes even by you. All you have to do is be vigilant and caring.
If you truly are concerned about someone or something you will
automatically get intuitive about them. That’s how a grandparent
sitting in a town hundred miles away just knows that something is not
right with the grandchild at 5 in the morning after talking normally to
him the night before.
Maybe the tired voice has let slip the ill health
that is creeping up and even before the grandchild knows that he is
down with viral the grandparent is on the phone sprouting medical
advice to manage the situation.
So just Care N be Vigilant and you will be Intuitive too!

I thank you for your good wishes, and hope what you say will come to pass. There is a good chance of it happening as I do have a prospective project on hand.
Hi Cashmere,
I liked this hub. Recently I read two books by Malcolm Gladwell. The first was called 'Blink', and it says pretty much what you have said here, that instinct and intuition are often informed by experience and attentiveness. The second is called 'Outliers', and it addresses the nature of success in an equally fascinating and analytical way. We know so much without even realising it. All day and every day we are bombarded with images, sounds and smells that guide, inspire, and influence us. It's impossible to avoid, yet somehow, some people take more information from the world around them, and use it in more creative ways.
That's why I feel every one can be trained to be intuitive Amanda. After all we were trained to read and write, so why can't some training lead to us being more intuitive?
What is the way to gain more power for intuition?
Meditation is the best way.
It doesn't have to be "formal" meditation. Simply sitting quietly with no distractions such as TV or radio, kids running in and out, etc, will allow the Inner Voice we call "intuition" to be heard. Once you know how it feels, you'll be more apt to listen and follow it even in the midst of chaos.
However, as you said, much of "intuition" is simply being observant of minute changes, as in a child's expression when (s)he needs to go to the loo. Or changes in the air just before a storm moves in that make you dig out candles and other supplies needed for a power outage.
I once bought 10 mini-flashlights on the way to work one day, for no other reason (I thought) than they were on sale at a much reduced price. At that point it was clear and sunny out and supposed to stay that way, but 6 hours later a surprise storm knocked out all power in our building and those mini-flashlights kept us from being in total darkness!
So true, if we only paid a bit more attention to what the universe and our angels are trying to tell us, many a mishap can be avoided.

Intuition or foresightedness comes with experience. As you meditate, you will find that you are receiving signals from some source within you that reveal possible dangers or opportunities for you to work on.
It is not my mere good wishes for you but I have an intuitive vision for you that sooner or later you are getting very big writing opportunity. This will happen in next 10 days. I am not a Jyotishi.
