RSS Feeds - Without All the Tech Talk

Here's my take on what an RSS feed is...

A RSS feed is basically a file that shows the most recent content from your blog, squidoo lens, hubpage, myspace blog, del.icio.us bookmarks.

With a RSS feed, you can actually make it easier for search engines and blog engines to sift through your site's content, and actually index it for their visitors to search through.

Me personally, I make a ton of blog posts, and I make sure to 'ping' my blogs too. I use pingomatic.com or pingoat.com.

In addition, I take the RSS feed link for my blogs, etc. and submit them to RSS directories. There are a vast amount of people who sift and search through these directories for content that they might possibly want to add to their website and link to.

I have people link to my articles all the time, and I just submit my blogs and my RSS feeds to blog/rss directories. It brings more traffic to my blog and gets me more exposure.

That's my take on RSS feeds. Enjoy yourself!

More than likely, it's because prior to your comment, there was NO content for the RSS feed. That feed above is for comments. The actual feed for this hub is located on the right side of the page a little further up.

Hope this helps, Abhinaya.
