Choosing the right promotional product for your campaign is incredibly important.  You need to have a clear idea of what you want to achieve with your promotion, and who you are aiming your promotion at. There is no point having a great campaign with excellent products if it is aimed at the wrong people with no real goal.

The range of promotional products available online is massive, with companies offering everything from promotional coffee mugs to coasters, and keyrings to umbrellas. Most companies will happily send you out a sample of the type of promotional things they can produce for you, and this can be easily requested through their websites, with a simple click or email. This is always a good idea as you can get an idea of the quality of their promotional products and of the printing they do. There is no point having a fantastic product when the logo or company name rubs off in a couple of weeks.

Once you have the aim of your promotion in mind and your target audience selected, you can choose the right promotional product to give to them. It may be that you send out advertising magnets in a leaflet, or perhaps have a stand on a high street where you can give out re-usable shopping bags, which will advertise over and over. Try and choose something that will be used more than once, things like keyrings and cups are always good, as are pens and promotinal magnets as they are useful things to just have around and everybody loves a freebie! The more your product is used, the more exposure it will get, and if it is something like an advertising pen that is actually a good quality pen then people tend to take more notice than they would a cheap and cheerful pen. The amount of free pens that get binned because they leak or stop writing or just feel horrible to write with doesn't bear thinking about, most of the time it is just a false economy to go for cheap promotional products as they will look and feel cheap and therefore have no appeal to anyone.

Just remember, whatever promotional product you end up going with, you need a good campaign to go with it to make sure it gets maximum exposure.
