If you are looking for an acne scar cream you should know that there is no cream out there, which will help you completely eliminate the scars that you have. You can, however, reduce the scars that you get from acne. As such, the reality of the situation is that you’ll be able to find an acne scar diminishing cream, not an acne scar eliminating cream.

How do acne scars happen in the first place? Keloid acne scars are, ones which are raised above the skin and are harder to treat than typical flat scars, which happen as a result of damaged tissue being replaced with new skin. This new skin is dissimilar to the surrounding area, thus giving the appearance of a scar.

Although there are many types of acne skin car products out there, one of my favorite sites to go to Amazon.com because it has variety and, most importantly, user reviews. If you search for “acne scar removal” in the “Health & Personal Car” category, you’ll see a lot of products listed. Here is what I saw and the general feel I got after reading the user reviews…

Glycolic Acid 35% Gel Peel, 30ml (Professional)

According to the product description it diminishes fine lines and wrinkles, reduces pore size, minimizes discoloration, and treats acne. You should know that this is not technically a cream, if you are looking for a cream, check out Scar Cream. Regardless, a lot of reviewers were ecstatic with this product. One user even said that it was his “Holy Grail”. How does it work? It is what its name implies; it peels away your skin. Right after you use it for 10 minutes or so you have to put on some moisturizer or the area on which you applied this product will be red. I would go so far as to say that this is the best acne scar cream I’ve seen so far online in terms of positive user reviews.

Salicylic Acid 20% Gel Peel, 30ml (Professional)

This is virtually the same as the aforementioned Glycolic Acid.

Sudden Change Scar ZoneA Acne Treatment & Scar Diminishing Cream, for Sensitive Skin

This product advertises itself as an acne treatment & scar diminishing cream. An added bonus is that this works for sensitive skin as well. Although there aren’t many reviews of this product on Amazon, nearly all of them were very positive. As such, this is one product definitely worth checking out.

Keep in mind, however, that a scar cream for acne can only do so much. If you have very deep scars it is worth looking at more expensive options such as laser acne scar removal rather than an acne scar cream.

I've had 3 knee surgeries, the first of which was in 2002 from a doctor who really didn't know what he was doing. As a result, I got this huge scar on my knee with 13 little raised scars from the stitches, that I call my football laces. I'm Asian, so I get keloid scars and eventually I just stopped caring about it since I didn't think there was anything I could do about it.

I had another surgery in 2006 where the doctor removed my old scar (still had the laces), and I again did nothing. My scar started out as thin and much prettier, but because I didn't take care of it, it eventually spread because of the stretching of the skin while my knee bent.

Third surgery was in January of this year, the doctor removed my scar again and kept the laces, but this time, I've decided to take care of this scar.

I started using Mederma 4 times a day 5 days ago and I all ready see a HUGE difference! My raised laces have smoothed out and are starting to fade. I'm not kidding. The place where my drain was is healing well and the big scar itself is looking great. It's not too red or scary, and it's totally soft and looks like a "normal" scar. I can't wait to see it in another month or two, the timeframe that Mederma recommends.
