RSS Feeds Are Important Updates
RSS feeds are important updates that update at regular intervals throughout the day when new content has been published on a website or blog and these become particularly important and relevant if there are subscribers to the feeds, because they may want to read any new updates when they become available.
Therefore, on our hubpages you should have an RSS feed that points to either your own related website content if applicable or someone elses RSS content that provides further information and news on a specific subject. Furthermore, if you have a general topic hub page that covers broad topic ranges then you can have more than one RSS feed to cover those topics or sub topics. Therefore, providing in depth information and potential updates when they become available.
Some Hubbers may subscribe to their favourite writers here by subscribing to their RSS feed by that noticeable orange and yellow square and this will keep them informed of any new hub page articles that have been published.
The main trick though when linking out to other RSS feeds, is to find ones that are actively updating with new content as this refreshes your hubpages and updates it much as in the same way as a comment or adding a back link elsewhere in the webosphere.
Also the titles of the RSS feed capsules just need to be eye catching for your readers too, something along the lines of "further informational websites about RSS feeds" will naturally make you want to go and check the links out, if that is what the Hubpage article is about.
Here at Hubpages there is the RSS feed capsule and the News capsule, but so far the News capsule is still quite frustrating, as the content often times did not reflect accurately, and you end up with unrelated content which could quite possibly reduce the effectiveness and so I prefer the RSS feed capsules as you have a bit more control over them and what feeds you can place on your hubpages.
If possible try and add the occasional RSS feed to the top of your hubpage, maybe tagged to the side of your article content as a sort of link list or just experiment it's placement like I do often. Most times if there is a few relevant keywords near the tops of the hubpages articles then these get picked up as the meta tag description data and gets listed as a result in the search engines, the same applies if you have a good quality tagged photo at the top of your hubpage.
RSS feeds are good indicators of websites that are busy busy people and they provide updated content or they could show the opposite and they never update with new content and therefore are not worth linking to, because if they don't care then why should you by linking to them.
