Herb Garden

The easiest way to grow an herb garden is actually indoors. You can buy whatever size planters you would like to use at Walmart or your nearest super-store. During the spring and summer months, they usually have seeds there as well; if not, check Home Depot or Lowe's. The instructions for each individual herb is located on the back of the seed packet. If you follow them, you should have little buds sprouting up in no time. Plus, if you grow it indoors, it will keep stray animals from munching on your growing plants and the birds won't be able to steal your seeds! Keeping your herbs indoors will also allow for easier watering, as you will see them every day when you walk by, and they won't get sun-damaged. When the plants are as large as you would like them to be, the easiest way to cut them is with a pair of scissors. If they are kept indoors, you probably won't need to wash them off, but some people prefer to, just to make sure there are no dust bunnies or bugs on them. Hang them upside down with twine or string and dry them. Be very careful to keep them away from windows and heating/air conditioning vents and fans, as unusually drastic temperatures can cause them to mold or turn brown. When your herbs are dried to perfection, you can use them in your cooking!
