Why we could all be a little bit more like Spongebob...
61So my three year old son wakes up nearly every morning saying "Can we watch Spongebob.. Where is Spongebob?" Sigh.. at 7:30 in the morning the last thing I want to hear is that annoying laugh. What is it that makes Spongebob so appealing to some?
So what exactly is the allure of this yellow squishy sea dweller that catches the attention of children and adults everywhere? Is it his wonderful voice that is constantly in my living-room? Is it his big blue eyes? Is it his infectious laugh that really really has to grow on you?
I don't know ...I think it is all in the bubbly attitude he has towards his life. A single dude working for nothing but the pride of being a fry cook. He looks forward to going to work each day. Can the rest of us say that?
Spongebob lives in the moment with the best of intentions always. He may go about things the wrong way but he is trying to make others happy. Is this something the rest of us make an effort to do?
He and his buddy Patrick Make time to have fun Can the rest of us say that? They plan a jelly fishing trip nearly every week!. They are amused by the simplest of activities. Why they have taken bubble blowing to a new art!
Spongebob doesn't have very many relationship problems. He seems to have a few close friends but is immensely popular. (I have really wondered how close Spongebob and Patrick really are)
Spongebob is loyal to his friends and his job. He is dependable and brutally honest.
Spongebob doesn't dislike anyone and is always trying to help others.
Spongebob is almost always happy. And it takes so little to make him grateful.
Spongebob is a good neighbor. He is always checking on his neighbor Mr. Squidward.
Spongebob has responsibilities. Besides his job he also takes care of his pet snail Gary.
Spongebob cares about his appearance but is not obsessed with it.
These are qualities you wish you could find in your significantly other. Spongebob could very well be on Match.com for all we know!

My two year old loves Spongebob but, in the beginning of his fascination, he couldn't quite say Spongebob Squarepants. But, he tried. And it sounded like he was saying "Papa's B---h (a female dog)". He calls his grandfather Papa so this was quite the uproar in the family until he was able to speak more plainly.
LOL nice hub :)
Our eleven year old granddaughter still watches Spongebob, although she'd never admit it to her friends. Nothing funnier than the Hooks episode. Great hub!
I probably would have never watched the show if it weren't for my little one. Teenagers I know still watch the show and laugh out loud! No embarrassment there!
My son has never quite got to saying the Squarepants part...
Sure wish I would have come up with Sponge Bob. I wouldn't be trying to make money on Hubpages. LOL
My kids have adopted Spongebob's saying of "oh, tarter sauce!" instead of cuss words. It is too cute!
My foour year old has too.. I always have to say what did you say?? Love your name!
So aside from Spongebob's driving skills and his wardrobe his positive attributes outweigh the negative. Maybe the next time you see that silly smile and hear that awful laugh you too will be inspired to be a little more like Spongebob.
