Turkey Stew My Way!

I have to say that making a stew from ground turkey is one of my favorite. I have replaced all of mmy recipes with ground turkey. Anything that calls for ground hamburger or ground beef, or even pork, I replace with ground turkey. With the right seasonings it is very hard to distinguish the difference and yourfamily and guests will love it. In some stores, ground turkey is much cheaper, doesn't shrink, and has no fat. It is much healthier for you too so you feel good in knowing you are feeding your family something that is healthy for them.

The ingredients I include with my browned (in skillet), ground turkey are canned or frozen vegetables. I use corn, tomatoes, green beans, carrots, fresh potatoes (cubed), celery, and onion (chopped). You can use one pound of ground turkey along with one can or package of each veggie. Several nice sized potatoes can be cubed and added to the mix, plus several stems of celery and one small onion or 1/2 of a large onion. I add salt and pepper to taste and also add some chyenne pepper or jalepeno pepper for a kick! I also add about 4 beef bullion cubes to give the stew a little beef flavor. This is my own homemade soup or stew recipe so you can add or take away any of the ingredients you don't like. There is enough in this recipe for at least 4 to 6 people, depending on the appetites.

If you want to make a larger batch just double or triple all of your ingredients. You can also thicken the stew with cornstarch if you so desire. Some people like this with crackers but I like it with fresh homemade bread and lots of butter. (oops, there went the 'good for you theory').
