Making a best hub does not mean to provide only rich content but also involves several other aspects like layout, formatting, insertion of different capsules viz., photo, video, news and different revenue capsules and selection of appropriate Tags. Once it is published, there is need to provide links to this hub from other hubs and from this hub to related hubs.

The most important aspect of making a good hub is selection of appropriate topic and a matching attractive/catchy title. It requires lot of expereince to know what topic attracts more traffic to your hub. In my opinion a good hub should fullfil following criteria:

1. Topic must be unique: A good hubber must understand the importance of the theme or subject of the hub. There are two types of topics namely 1. Seasonal, 2. Evergreen,

Seasonal topics includes olympic games, Halloween, chrismas and elections etc. These may be termed seasonal because they will attract traffic when a particular event is taking place. Traffic will die once the event is over. However, a seasonal hub will attract huge traffic till the relevance of the topic keeps people attached with it.

Evergreen topics: These topics have a ever lasing effect and will alwys attract traffic to your hubs. Such topics include glamour, culture, society, religion, methodology and procedures. In the begining there will be less traffic but such hubs will attract constant and heavy traffic in due course. I cite here one example: I created a hub titled "Impact of globalization on Indian Culture". When I published it there was a slow traffic to this hub but later on this hub attracted 20-30 visitors daily from all over the word (Pl. see the Figures). You know why? All Indians either living in India or abroad love their culture and concerned with the influence of globalization on it. If you write something related to gender descrimination, it will have good value as both genders are concerned with each other. Hence my another hub "Violence against women in India" is treated a good hub and invite attention of lot of people. People also have a desire to know something about celebrities. I know several hubbers here, who write always on celebrioties and are established as best hubbers. Other topics may include something traditional, visit the hub" Traditional way of storing rice"

2. Content of Hub should be rich: Content is the most important element of a hub. Content should be relevant to topic. One need to do lot of research to collect material for a hub even if he/she is an authority on the subject. "Contents" mean here the text, photographs and video. Never copy content from net or books etc. Not only it will result in copyright violation and legal action but also bad for your reputation as a hubber. Keep in mind , sources of information on the net are common and anyone reading your hub would like to see this type of content on wikipedia etc.

3. Layout of Hub should be stylish: Its really an art to layout a good hub. If layout is good and all elements of the hub are arranged in style, some of weekness in content will be ignored by visitors. Try to insert text followed by photo and follow the same sequence if you have enough photographs related to content. While adding revenue capsules like Amazon or eBay, keep in mind that number of ads do not exceed >4 at a time.

4. Hub need be linked with other related hubs and also with social networking sites: Inbuilt feature of hubpages features related hubs automatically but you should provide links where appropriate to your different hubs. However, you should add links manually by adding "Link" capsules. To drive traffic targetted to your hub you need to add/bookmark your hub with some social network or bookmark sites. At least you should bookmark your page with del.icio.us, yahoo mypage and other sites. You may not get immediate attention but it will benefit in long run.

Activation of Amazon ads display on your hubpage:

In the comment box, a hubber inquired about activating affiliate accounts. Information is provided in brief to help fellow hubbers.

Once you have got your affiliate code from Amazon/Google, its easy to paste. You click on the Tab "My Account" after sign in your account at hubpages. This tab is located at the right top corner. After opening "My Account", please click the tab "Affiliate Setting" located in right side. On the "Affiliate Setting page you will notice 4 affiliate boxes. In the Amazon/Google text box click on edit and either place your code manually or paste it after right clicking your mouse. After you have pasted your code it will show "Active" status. Now your Amazon A/C is active. Hubpages automatically Google adds codes so ads are immediately displayed but in case of Amazon you have to search for ads and control display of ads. To add amazon ads to your hub you have to be in edit mode.

Steps are simple.

1. Click on the edit tab.

2. Click on add revenue capsule and then Amazon.

3. Now you click on the edit tab of Amazon capsule.

4. Click on keyword search.

5. Provide keyword related to content of your hub. By default this capsule searches keyword treating whole of your title as a phrase and will not display any result. So you have to provide a single keyword and click on preview results. Even after inputing keyword no results are displayed you input other keyword.

This is all about activating your affiliate account.

I am pretty new to huppages and I have google ads on my articles, but I can't figure out how to get the Amazon ads. I signed up with Amazon and it gave me code to paste into my pages' website. But I don't know how to paste this code on hubpages. Have I gone about something the wrong way? I just don't know who to ask. I would love some advise. Thank you for the helpful hub!
