The Notebook: An Epic Love Story

This movie is an incredible adaptation of the book The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks. The movie followed the book and did nothing to make you cringe. Nick Cassavetes did an excellent job directing this film and made it the movie it is!

The plot of the story is based around a young couple. They fall madly in love with all the twists and drama young lovers will have. The young couple is seperated during World War 2 but is reunited after 7 years. The young man feels the same way about the girl as he did when he first met her. When the cameras start rolling in this film we see an old man reading to an old woman from a beat up notebook. This contains the story of the lovers. We learn about the passion of youth from this brilliant story. After struggling for so long to be together when they finally get the chance to do so some things go wrong. There are laughs, sighs, cries and joyousness all wrapped up in a snuggly blanket in this film.

The old lady in the film suffers from alzhemiers disease and we find out later in the film that she was the young lady in the story. The ending is bitter sweet. If you have not seen this film, do yourself a favor and see it!

The actors and actress' in this film have shown off their potential by doing this film. Ryan Gosling plays the young man named Noah. Rachel McAdams plays the young lady named Allie. The older gentleman and older lady are played by James Garner and Gena Rowlands respectively.

This movie should be a timeless classic if it isn't all ready. Grab your loved one, a box of tissues, lights some candles and bring yourself closer to eachother with this moving story!

Hi Gaia,

I haven't seen "The Notebook" yet, but I'm gonna see it.

One of my favorite movies (because I have more than one) is Sixteen Blocks. It's about a black man who is supposed to testify against a group of corrupt cops. Another cop must take him out of prison and bring him to the courtroom. The distance between the prison and the courtroom is 16 blocks, but it's difficult to get to the courthouse because the bad cops want him dead.

What I find so beautiful about this film is that in the midst of all that shooting this guy hold fast to a notebook that withhold a dream that he wants to accomplish and the believe that people CAN change. Great movie.
