The Last King of Scotland- a daring and brutally honest film

i pick and choose movies and am not a movie buff.

it casually happened that i entered the movie hall all alone(thank goodness) on a gloomy day to watch - the last king of scotland - WITHOUT THE SLIGHTEST IDEA OF how THE MOVIEL WILL UNFOLD.

believe me it was a classic

the plot was a gutsy one painting the near biography of IDI AMEEN whom i despised in my childhood

the movie was bold and brought alive the character of id ameen in his charming glory

the portrayal and casting of support actors was equally rewarding.

it was a period movie exploring inter racial sentiments which was a tight rope walk

the picturisation was brilliant

performance by the lead character was brilliant

the mad side of media was well brought out

international diplomacy was a subject of ridicule

the torture scenes were culturally intertwined

the pride of the idiameen and black power stood out

all in all it was one of the best movies made

it is a distinct movie which stands out as the king among movies
