What is your personal life philosophy? Be the change you want to see in the world.

What I believe may very well be a lie, but it is what I believe at the moment.
Everything that I am, that I do, that I have in my life, I chose. Some of you might be in a situation that you feel is negative, intolerable, devastating, and you might challenge me that you didn't "ask" for your life to be like that. But maybe on a different level, you did. In one of his audio programs, Wayne Dyer said, "The Universe is in perfect balance at any given moment." When challenged, what about the starving children in Africa, he responded that it was in balance, and so is your desire to help them.
I believe that we are all god-like beings who have chosen to have a human experience, similar to the way that an actor chooses to take on a role in a play. Before we were born into the lives/bodies we have, we "wrote the script" of our life. We planned all the other characters that we would need to fulfill our "role" on this earth. We have had and will have other life (or human) experiences, as our spirit/higher self chooses to be in many "plays." Shakespeare wrote, "All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players."
Everyone we meet, everyone who comes into our life, has a purpose in our life, someone we planned to meet, or planned to be a part of our life to help us learn, be our teacher, be our companion, be our parent, be our child, be our brother or sister.
I believe that if we feel unfulfilled, or lost, or confused as to why we are here, it is because we are not listening to our "higher self," our "spirit," the part of us that chose this life. Sometimes, as humans, we get caught up with being human (the struggle to survive). We forget that, as spiritual beings having a human experience, we came here to "have experiences." So how can we take the time to listen, to find our higher purpose? Through meditation. I learned that meditating for as little as five minutes a day helps me to be more tolerant of others, be less imposing of my wants on others, be at peace with myself, and I feel more directed. (A great free resource is Project-Meditation.org.)
How does free will enter into this belief? Can we change our "destiny"? Or are we stuck with whatever script we wrote before we entered into this life? Robert Scheinfeld says that we can talk to our "director" or "higher self" and request certain things to be in our life. We may or may not be successful in receiving what we want. But we can also change the way se see our life, surrender to the fact that "we" (our higher self) knew what we were doing, and that if things don't seem great in our life now, that there is a lesson or purpose for it.
I look at some of the old cliches and can see how they are true. For instance, the saying, "Live by the sword, die by the sword," explains how people who are in the military or police are more likely to die from battle injuries than other ways. Our mothers knew what they were saying when they warned us about hanging out with the wrong friends.
Some other ideas that I have been studying lately tie into these thoughts. The Law of Attraction for instance, supports the saying in the previous paragraph. The Law of Attraction states that what we focus on, we bring into our lives. If we live with a fear that our child will be ill, most likely our child will be ill, fulfilling our fear, because that is what we focused on.
I watched the video about Tara and Bella (see it here at this hub). Someone left a comment about how "the other guys" aren't getting this so "we" have to put them in their place. But he's the one who doesn't get it. Mahatma Gandhi said, "Become the change you want to see in the world."
If we want to be treated with respect, we must treat others with respect. If we want to be loved, we must love others. If we want to see peace in this world, we must behave peacefully ourselves. If we want more in our lives, we must be grateful for what we already have.
In his book Power vs. Force, David Hawkins talks about the fact that the British Empire tried to defeat India with its force (large armies). Gandhi "fought" back with a level of consciousness that, when "mapped," was at a level 700 out of 1000, when the average person in the U.S. is at level 200. His high level of consciousness was so high it transmuted a greater power than the physical military strength of the British Empire, resulting in Gandhi's peaceful way being triumphant.
Each one of us can work to raise our level of consciousness through study and meditation. If we want to stop wars, we can start by changing the way we feel about those who start and perpetuate wars. If we hate them, the anger and hatred in us lowers our level of consciousness instead of raising it. I've learned that there will always be actions happening in this world that we don't like, and that our "re-actions" to them will determine where we are on the map of consiousness. We can create our own actions to counter those we don't like, rather than re-actions, which are often done from emotion, anger, hostility, negativity.
When we raise our own level of consciousness, it has a ripple effect on the world. As I looked for some free materials to help me raise my level of soncsiousness, I began collecting them and have made some available to share with you through my website, FindTheWealthInYou.com.
You CAN change the world by changing your life, changing the way you think, changing the way you act. If you are like me, you'll need some inspiration from others to do this.
I want to leave you with something I learned from the Talking Moose eighteen years ago,
"Don't believe everything you believe."
