What makes a good mother?

To me a good mother is made up of adaptability, patience, love, compassion, empathy, kindness, strength, determination, and a whole lot more! Being a mother is the toughest job a women can take on, sure it has it's reward, but it is still hard work, especially to be considered a good mother. Are you a good mother? or Do you have a good mother? Share with us!. Thanks, honesty2008

I think it took me awhile to become a good mother because where do we learn to become parents except to practice on our children. You don't need a license to raise children but you do need a license to work on hair and nails. Does this make any sense? And we don't get paid to do it. I would have to say through years of experience all that you state in your hub is very true and one very important element to add would be to sharpen your listening skills. Wait patiently while children are speaking. Let them finish even if you don't agree or you know where their conversation is headed. Because only then can they begin to hear what you have to say. This has made all the difference in my relationship with my 2 children who are both now in their late teens.
