Dove eggs.

So you're gonna have a baby bird, congrats! Here are some pointers that you must know.

So first thing first. Does your bird have a nest? If not you can make one quickly. All you need is scissors, shoebox, and paper towels. That's all ! So get your shoebox . Take the lid off and cut a rectangle on one if the sides. Make sure your bird can fit. So now you should have your opening. Put some paper towels on the bottom of the shoebox. That way it is nice and comfortable for your bird . Tear some tissues or toilet paper. It is way softer than paper towels. Let your bird arrange the nest. Now, put the lid on the shoe box . And there you have a nice cozy nest. :)

Once your bird has laid the egg , you should put her in a warm and quiet spot. Don't put her by a window. The best place is a closet or the bathroom . Or some other warm area where there is not much activity. Once you have your birds in a warm spot you should leave them or sit and talk soothing to them and make no sudden movements. The mother might get scared and in a hurry she will get up and might crush the egg. Every once in a while check on them and make sure they have plenty of water and plenty of food .This can be very tiring for them. Usually it takes about 6 weeks if the egg hasn't hatched by 7 weeks , take the egg and get a flash light and go in a dark room if you do not see any vains the baby has died. if you do see vains put the egg back . It will soon hatch. : )

Check and see if the chick has hatched. If it has than leave them alone. Again check that they have plenty of food and water. They must have food to produce crop. (the babys food) Everyday check and make sure that the baby is in the nest. If not than ever so gently put the baby back in the nest. It's alright if this happens. Just bring the mommy towards the nest. DO NOT PUT THE MOTHER IN THE NEST SHE MIGHT PIERCE THE CHICKS' SKIN !

As the baby grows it will tend to wander out of the nest. This is natural let it walk around. Once the baby is all grown up YOU MUST SEPARATE IT FROM THE PARENT OR ELSE THEY WILL CHASE IT AND WON'T LET IT EAT THEIR FOOD! The baby will be in a little shock after this. Just talk to the chick soothingly. You should have a name for it start calling its' name ! When it gets use to you it will come when called! This is the start of a great relationship!

Well there you have it! And Congradulations ! : ) Please ask any questions you have about this article! Thankyou...
