What to expect during graduation
56
May and June are big months for most high school and college students. Graduation season is upon them in full force during these months. For some students it is a few weeks of never ending parties and open houses. For moms and dads it is an exciting, scary, and busy time of year.
When hosting an open house or party, many parents are busy for days running around town, finding the napkins and plastic ware with the right school colors, ordering the yard banner, arranging for catering or trying to shop for all the food themselves. Then it is a question of the cake and decorations. By the time the party is set to start, the parents are exhausted. Instead of running around town trying to do it, think double duty.
A Cookie or Candy Bouquet is just the thing for a graduation party or open house. It is a great way to congratulate the graduate, feed the hungry guests a scrumptious dessert and makes an attractive decoration or centerpiece. Since the basket is made to order and shipped right to the location of the party, it saves time, energy and money. Ordering more than one, as both a dessert option and decorations means double the yum.
Not able to make it to a relatives graduation or party or not trekking across the country for your college roomies daughter's party. Consider sending a gift basket, cookie bouquet or candy arrangement. It is a great way to acknowledge the day in grand style.

Planning for a graduation party or open house? With only a couple of weeks left before the big day, there is lots to do.
"Graduation day is tough for adults. They go to the ceremony as parents. They come home as contemporaries. After twenty-two years of child-raising, they are unemployed." ~Erma Bombeck
Graduation Day is a great day for parents. After four years of paying tuition and sending money when needed, Graduation Day for many is the day the checkbook closes or at least the big checks are no longer being written. Graduation Day is also, largely the day that their baby is not longer a baby. This is the hard part for most parents.
Graduation Day often focuses solely on the graduate - but wouldn't it be nice to offer a bit of graduation cheer to the parents. From the first cry to the walk across the stage, mom and dad have been the constant source of instruction, love, support and devotion. So while congratulating the graduate consider including the entire team. For many parents while thrilled for their child, they feel just a hint of melancholy or sadness at the prospects of being parents to busy adult children. Empty nesting is harder work than many people think it will be.
Consider sending them a nice note and hobby themed basket. A gardening tools assortment or picnic basket for two, would be a great way to remind the parents of the graduate that Graduation Day is a day to celebration, accomplishment and change for everyone. It is rather like turning the page, entering the next phase and embracing all the wonderful events yet to come.

There's just one thing that a college graduate needs and appreciates. It fits inside a card and has your autograph--a check!
