Great gifts for 25th wedding anniversary

They did it. Your parents have raised a family and are still married after all these years. This is a crowning achievement currently in our society and they deserve the biggest of accolades for this momentous occasion. So what are some great gift ideas to show your love and appreciation, besides the age old cliched gift of Silver?

One thought is to take a look back at their history and recreate some part of it.Scheduling a date or weekend getaway to their prior honeymoon location, or to a place where they shared a special memory, first date, etc. is bound to create another nostalgic and possibly an outrageously fun time.

Planning a family celebration, is bound to touch the hearts and can be arranged for varied budgets. The great city of San Diego has many options. A family cruise out of San Diego(http://www.sandiegocruiseport.com/) or Orange county harbors would be an all inclusive way to celebrate in style. An overnight trip to Catalina island (http://www.catalina.com/) could provide much family fun and bonding. On a smaller budget, if your home or property is large enough to hold the entire family, a surprise party with photos, slide-show, and memorabilia, would be very sweet. If your parents are the active type, a great idea would be to host a rock climbing party(http://www.solidrock.com/) for them. There are many local indoor rock climbing facilities, that also have part areas, and the whole family can bond while climbing and celebrate how we are still young at heart. All of these are great gifts for a 25th wedding anniversary.

How about buying them some quality couple time. A couples day at the spa ( www.lacosta.com/spa/default.asp ) would be just the thing to allow them some connecting time together where can luxuriate and be pampered, They "pampered" you and your siblings all those years, now you can pamper them. :)

And after all those great ideas for a 25th wedding anniversary, there are still some traditional folks who will want to see a silver lining. For them I would suggest finding a sliver plated gift of "something" and having it engraved at a local engraving store such as "things remembered".

Best of luck in your planning and shopping, and here is wishing you a "silver" anniversary in your future as well.
