What would you like to do that you've been afraid to try?

I would have to say for me it is about writing a book. I have had an outline done now for almost 6 years and I have been putting off writing this book. I know that the book will have great content as I have shared the outline with friends and peers over the last 5 years. Many have told me to proceed forward and just do it.

I guess my biggest issue here would be the rejection from the publishers or editors that would want to change it so much that it does not still resemble what I originally wrote.

The book that I am wanting to write is about how to become a better sales associate and a better customer service person. It is strickly based on my 15 to 20 years of experience throughout that time span. I have it broke into 7 areas of concern.

Ultimate problem is, I just never got the courage to walk the line.

I think you should go for it. You can't be rejected if you don't try. Good luck with that!

Thanks for responding to my Request "What would you like todo that you've been afraid to try?" I'm with all the other advice-givers to you. Oh, Danny Boy (I know, it's Danniboi33)...stop procrastinating. JUST DO IT! You're years of experience in your field make you an expert...

Also, there is probably a "specialty publisher" who/which publishes books that would be helpful to sales types. Don't worry about your grammar (too much, that is), if an editor at a publishing house is interested in your premise and has a market for your subject matter, they'll assist you in getting your book into shape.

Another bit of advice I have for you: Never ask friends or relatives or co-workers to evaluate your work. For one, they are biased in favor of you and would be reluctant to give you a useful critique. For another, if they are not writers, editors or publishers, they really don't know what's out there available to you and your ideas.

Don't wait any longer! Do your book! As you write (on a daily basis preferably), you'll get better and better at it. Writing is the one art that, essentially, writers teach themselves by practice, practice, practice...by doing, doing, doing.

Writers who talk about wanting to write, but don't do it are not yet fully graduated to full writer status. Danniboi33...write every day and your book will emerge. You'll see. Creativita
