Assuming your diet and workout program is in check, there is nothing really wrong with this as long as you adopt a healthy frame of mind with regards to the product you are going to take and how you go about adding it to your diet.
The first thing you need to be cautious about is how you react to supplements in general. If you are usually very sensitive to other medication, for example if a medication warns you it may cause drowsiness and then knocks you out cold, chances are you will also be more susceptible to any fat loss products that are out there as well.
If this is the case, you will definitely want to error on the side of caution with regards to the amount you take, particularly right at the beginning. Once you've been on it for a while you can then assess how your body is responding and make any chances to your dosage as you see fit. It is much smarter to start with a lower dose and adjust upwards if need be. Usually a good recommendation is to start at half of what is recommended. If you experience no adverse side affects then you can move up to the full dose.
You should not exceed the recommended dosage however, unless you are specifically advised to do so and have consulted a physician about this. You may think that if you feel good with the normal dose you will feel better with a higher dose, however higher dosages could become toxic and could really do you harm. A classic example is the case with ephedra. When taken in normal dosages by regular healthy individuals, it does not prove to be harmful, however when an individual who is particularly antsy to get going on their fat loss journey increases the dosage more, problems arise and with this particular supplement, severe consequences can be seen. You must be smart when taking any supplement. Do not kid yourself into thinking 'you can handle it'.
The next thing to be aware of is supplement interactions. When purchasing a fat burner, make sure you discuss with the seller any other supplements you are currently taking. Assuming you are buying it from a knowledgeable individual on the supplement market, they should be able to help you determine if there will be any negative interactions. If you are still unsure, do not be afraid to ask your physician.
It should also be predominantly noted that combining fat burners with other stimulant like products such as coffee or other drugs can really enhance their effects to a point where it becomes too much for you. You would be best advised to cut these other stimulants out if you plan on using a fat burner. Additionally, the more stimulant products you are using, the higher the likelihood your body is going to adapt to them and then you will not notice as great of effects or will find that you really feel terrible if you don't get your daily dose.
So keep these points in mind before you start taking a fat burner. Always exercise safety when putting any drug into your body, whether it is a prescription drug or otherwise. And above all, do not think a fat burner will act as a replacement to a good diet and workout program. Without those two factors in line first, the fat burner is not going to do you much good at all.
