Vitamins are important component for life and it regulate our metabolism.

They intervene in the production and control of energy, as well as cell growth and development of all body tissues.

RDA - Recommended Daily Allowance. In the USA, the RDA is a standard suggested intake of a certain nutrients for a healthy person. This amount can change for a person with a given problem or illness.

The RDA for Vitamin C is 60 mg. / day. For smoker, it is recommended to take 25 mg. or more per cigarette smoked. It 40 cigarettes are smoked daily, 1000 mg./ day us recommended.

Which is better, Natural or Synthetic ?

Specialist in this area comment that although both seem to be identical and give good results, the natural vitamins are more readily absorbed by the body. Natural vitamin are less toxic and are better tolerated by the body when the correct dosage is exceeded.

Thing to know about vitamins :

  • Vitamin E and C can't be taken at the same time, you need 4 hours interval to drink the other vitamin, because vitamin C kills Vitamin E.
  • Vitamin work better when they're taken with minerals.
  • The best time to take vitamins is with a meals and with mineral supplements, because they are absorbed better this way.
  • The best time for taking fat soluble vitamins like vitamins A/Beta-carotene, E, D, K, is before meals.
  • Water based vitamins like B complex, C, F etc., are better taken during or after meals.
  • The body can produce some vitamins, but its can't produce minerals.
  • Almost 100% of nutrients are absorbed by the small intestine, with the exception of oxygen.
