First of all, let me say, you know your spouse better than I do. That said, the 9th wedding anniversary 'theme' so to speak differs if you are going for a traditional gift or a modern take on it. For the Traditional gift it should be made of Pottery or China. On the Modern side of things...Leather. I guess you could (or in some cases, should) cover your bases and get all three.
