To that end, school nurses facilitate positive student responses to normal human development, promote health and safety in the school environment, interview with actual potential health problems, provide case management, services and actively collaborate with other to build student and family capacity for adoption, self management, self advocacy, and learning.
Nurse Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities of School Nurse

- Planner and Coordinator of client care- in this role the school nurse work with school and community coordinators and managers, and politicalinvolment.
- Client Teacher - the school nurse collaborate with administrators and teachers and providing health education opportunities and experiences school age children, families, school professional and the community. That will lead to health behavior change.
- Investigator -focus in the school nurse as observe in of the health patterns and individuals and their related environment.
What is communication?
Process of transmission of information governed by the 3 levels of Semiotic rules, syntactic pragmatic and semantic is a kind of social interaction where at least to interacting agent share common set of sign and common set of semiotic rules.
Communication Technique
- Get physically and mentally ready to listen- mentally you are direct all of your attention to what the speaker is saying, attempting to block out the miscellaneous thoughts passing through your mind.
- Listen actively- consider your listening task as opportunity to learn. Right after the speaker starts speaking; start to focus on the massage. You can ask clarificatory question on the topics in the message which you do not clearly understand.
- Listen for meanings, not for words- the effective listener is sensitive not only to words but also to all communicative cues he hears
- Focus on the message - think about the ideas that are emphasized. Try to remember the items that empress you, vocabulary, examples and speakers interest.
What is Physical Assessment?
Physical assessment is an assessment of person's physical difficulties. It determines how a person's muscles, bone movements have been affected by a disability, injury or health condition.
