Save Earth

It's Everyone's duty in the world to save our planet. But each and every day we are destroying our planet in lot more ways even unknowingly. Because of that we are facing lot more problems like global warming, climate change, soil erosion, earth quake, Tsunami, etc. Lot more of them are died in various places around the world due to these changes in our environment. Is it possible to save the earth from lot more problems like global warming? We have any answer for this question. Of Course, we have some solution to Save our Earth. Is it really possible if we plant more number of trees across the world. it's everyone's duty to plant lot more trees. It's time for all to raise your hands for this wonderful purpose. Here I introduce a person who really makes the world to be proud.

Introduction To The Tree Woman

I like to write about a woman who really inspired me a lot.

About her, she won Nobel Prize for Peace in 2004 and she was the First African woman to receive that award.

She was choosen as the World's Best Citizenship Award for the current year.

Last Year She received Indira Gandhi Peace Award in India.

She is none other than Dr. Wangari Maathai, an Environmentist and Politician from Kenya.

Wangari Maathai's Contribution

In 1977, She founded Green Belt Movement, a non-organization movement. Since then the Green Belt movement planted more than 30 Million Trees across Kenya. That's why she is affectionately called "Tree Mother of Africa" and also "Tree Woman". Still she is continuing her contribution to the society. It's a tremendous achievement by the 68 year old Kenyan woman. Especially, we are living in the Globalization World. Each and everyday we are destroying forests, farmlands, trees for various reasons. Due to that we are facing dramatic climate change across the world, soil erosion, etc. so, it's very much important to us to appreciate her contribution, dedication to the society. She really deserved to won many more awards. Really it's my pleasure to write about her.

What a fantastic citizen! Thanks for writing this Hub; I'd never heard of her before, which I think now is a shame :)
