What's the best indian food restaurant in Mountain View, CA?
64Great Indian in Mountain View CA
There are good Indian restaurants in Mountain View. It is hard to pick a top one without knowing what type of Indian food you prefer. In my opinion, it would be Godavari or Amber India.
The restaurant Godavari(Formerly Sues) serves the cuisine of southern India. The restaurant focuses on vegetarian dishes, while they do have chicken , pork and lamb dishes available. The same family has owned the restaurant for years, and they are accomodating. We have a family member with a food allergy, and they are quite accomodating
Try the somosas or pokoda's for appetizers.
One of my favorites is the Lamb Birani. It features chunks of roasted lamb with nuts and rice.
My wife is partial to the Thali non-vegetarian dinner, and we both love the Kulfi for dessert.

Amber India is Top Notch
While Godavari serves the foods of Southern India, Amber India focuses on the cuisine of Northern India.
The food here is excellent and presented in a pleasing manner. Despite the strip mall exterior, the inside is quite elegant and inviting. I would recommend the Chicken Tandoori, or the Kerala Lamb Curry.

Annapoorna
This place was recommended by a reader of this hub.
This place is called Annapoorna, and it's located on El Camino Real between 20th and 25th Aves. in San Mateo.
They are open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner. And the place is always chock full of Indians... The food is exquisite. The dosas are crisp/tender and flavorful, as are the uttapam, and the vadas... The best thing on the menu is the Special Thali plate. This comes with 4-5 curries of the day, yogurt, chappati, rice and papad. And it's unbelieveably good!PrintShare it! — Rate it: up down flag this hub
