Detox Cleansing with Wheatgrass
63There are tons of health and weight related colon and detox cleanses available on the market today. Different cleanses have been marketed by doctors, celebrities, personal trainers and entrepreneurs to solve a myriad of health problems, from obesity to colon cancer. Since I had some luck with a detox cleanse based upon wheatgrass, I figured I would write up a hub and share it with everyone here today.
What is Wheatgrass?
Wheatgrass is essentially what it sounds like – the grass of the wheat plant, when it is young and green. Generally, wheatgrass is either made into juice, extract or powder (for capsules) before it is ingested; it is rarely eaten raw. You can find wheatgrass at health food stores, online, and you can even grow it in your own home... although that’s a royal pain in the butt and takes up to 2 weeks just to get any.
Wheatgrass has been promoted for its health benefits based on the fact that a single ounce of wheatgrass juice has a heck of a lot more vitamins, nutrients and phytonutrients than a single ounce of vegetables, and is both less expensive and easier to store and consume. I found that without a doubt, the best way to ingest wheatgrass was by taking capsules – and the best part of capsules of course is that they can contain other healthy ingredients. After my typical online research, I settled on W-Grass All-Natural Wheatgrass Cleanse – you can check out their site here (they offer a free trial for US citizens ONLY):
Why Cleanse with Wheatgrass?
Wheatgrass is loaded with all sorts of health vitamins and nutrients. I checked Wikipedia, and came up with this list of nutrients that are in wheatgrass: Protein, Beta Carotene, Vitamin E, Vitamin C, Vitamin B12, Phosphorus, Magnesium, Calcium, Iron, and Potassium. Wheatgrass is also loaded with chlorophyll, like other green vegetables, which assists with blood flow, digestion and detoxification. Chlorophyll has also been linked to a reduced risk of colon cancer, which is a nice long-term benefit.
Where can I get a Wheatgrass Detox Cleanse?
As I mentioned above, you can find wheatgrass in the local health food store but you’re going to have to pay for it to try it out. If you want to try wheatgrass for free to see if the cleanse has any effect on you for whatever your goals are (weight loss, improved health, eliminating toxins and waste, etc.) than you can try the W-Grass Cleanse that I used for free for 15 days, which is more than enough time to see if it will work for you. Thanks as always for reading my hub and good luck with your health, fitness, weight loss or whatever your goals are!
