Wheelbarrow Buyers Guide

A wheelbarrow is something you should have around your home. Perfect for use in the garden or transporting stuff outside around your home. Now there are two main types of wheelbarrows which I talk about further on. This hub will help you in your wheelbarrow buying decision.

Types of Wheelbarrows

There are two main types of wheelbarrow. The one most people are familiar with a the traditional type of wheelbarrow. The traditional one has sloped sides, one wheel, and two handles. It is normal made up of metal and plastic parts. The single wheel means the person pushing the wheelbarrow has to keep it balanced. There are advantages to having the single wheel though such as being easier to move around corners.

The second type of wheelbarrow is commonly known as a garden cart. Unlike the traditional wheelbarrow the garden cart only has one handle. A garden cart is most commonly made of wood with two wheels. Both the sides and bottom of the cart are flat.

With a garden cart you do have more stability than a traditional wheelbarrow. Disadvantages to a garden cart though are that the two wheels can make them bulky and difficult to move around corners. One advantage is that a garden cart can be pushed or pulled where as a traditional wheelbarrow can only be pushed.

You should determine the main use for your wheelbarrow before purchasing one as both types have their advantages and disadvantages.
