Chevvai is called as Mars in English.If mars is in 2,4,7,8 and 12 th houses, it is claimed that the chevvai dosham exists in the horoscope.But it is not always the case.There are many exceptions to this general rule.So while matching the horoscopes, you have to carefully look for these exceptions.
- If mars is joined hands with Sun or saturn or jupiter, it nullifies the chevvai dosha.
- If the ascendant is either cancer or leo, there will not be chevvai dosha for these people irrespective of mars position in horoscope.

- If mars is in twelth house and it falls falls into the taurus or libra, there is no dosha.
- If it joins with moon or mercury there is no dosha.
