When To Potty Train - The Best Time To Start?
69When To Potty Train - The Best Time To Start?
Potty training is a
task that could prove to be an enjoyable and successful learning
experience for the parents as well as the child. Potty training is one
of the initial steps in the development of a child hence it is
important for the parents to know exactly when to potty train
their child. A lot of parents remain confused about when to potty train
their child and generally end up doing it at the wrong time or using
the wrong methods. However the child starts to show signs about when to
potty train and this is what the parents generally fail to understand,
this gives rise to wrong timing in potty training.
As is mentioned earlier, the child
shows peculiar behavior which shows when to potty train, this is shown
in various ways such as, the child starts to notice how the elders in
the family or the elder siblings use the toilet and the child starts to
show interest in learning potty training, this should be used as a
signal by the parents to learn when to potty train. The child might
start to urge the parents to let it use the toilet and be actually
happy when it is allowed to imitate the adults, this can be considered
the right time when to potty train a child. The child will ready to
learn to use the potty and it will be less of a hassle for the parents
to teach the child.
When to start potty training can
also be indicated when the child starts using one particular spot or
corner for relieving itself, this is the most obvious hint to the
parents about when to start potty training, as this would be done by
children who want to use the same place to relieve themselves and are
not comfortable anywhere else, this is the child’s way of telling the
parents when to start potty training.
This behavior shows that the children make their own place of relieving
themselves very similar to the toilet and show that they are ready for
potty training.
Another way of finding out when to
start potty training is to start noticing whether the child is
comfortable in diapers and wet nappies, if the child shows discomfort
in wet or soiled diapers then the parents must understand that it is
the right time when to start potty training. In a lot of cases the
children feel uncomfortable and irritable while in their diapers and
seek to remove the diapers as soon as possible, this could happen even
when the diapers are not clean, i.e. when they are wet, in this
situation if the child is given potty training then it will not need
the diaper at all times and the child will feel free and comfortable,
hence this is how parents can understand when to potty train. The right
age to potty train may be different in different children but it is
generally by the behavior of the children that the parents understand
when to potty train them.
