Here is the story — if you would like to do well in Internet Marketing, you will likely have to obey some of the elemental rules of life.

1) People don’t like to be swindled

2) People are suspicious when they think they might get swindled

3) People generally buy from other people that they trust, so as not to get swindled.

4) People can’t trust you if they don’t know you

5) People may not trust you to sell them something of worth, even if they do know you, if you do not display… EVIDENCE THAT YOU KNOW THE INDUSTRY.

CHECK OUT SOME OF MY OTHER HUBS:

This is where blogging comes in.

In my research I come across a lot of blogs. Usually these blogs are chock full of information, such that I think “Ah, this person has been down the road I am considering going down, or that I am already on.”

Occasionally I see blogs with a single post on it, with nothing but an ad.

Now, why would I buy from an anonymous individual who has not even displayed to me in an obvious fashion that he understands the field in question?

A blog is a shirt. It should show through your shirt whether you are someone who researches in-depth and comes up with solid info for the reader to consume FOR FREE, or whether you are, well, a bit scrawny…

Sex and shopping will always have a relationship. In both cases, when it comes to looking at what’s on offer, what the buyer wants to see is not skin and bone, but SUBSTANCE.

Content is King

Content is King in Internet marketing.

You must, must, must learn how to show, through your content, that you know whereof you speak.

But the Internet is also the ultimate source of information -- information you can research... and turn into content.

Content attracts admiration, is persuasive, and is liked by search engines.

It must, therefore, show through your shirt whether your content is quality.
