PSALM 23

The LORD is my shepherd;

I have everything I need.

He lets me rest in fields of green grass

and leads me to quiet pools of fresh water.

He gives me new strength.

He guides me in the right paths,

as he has promised.

Even if I go through the deepest darkness,

I will not be afraid, LORD,

for you are with me.

Your shepherd's rod and staff protect me.

You prepare a banquet for me,

where all my enemies can see me;

you welcome me as an honored guest

and fill my cup to the brim.

I know that your goodness and

love will be with me all my life;

and you house will be my

home as long as I love.

PSALM 25:15-21

I look to the LORD for help at all times

and he rescues me from danger.

Turn to me, LORD, and be merciful to me

because I am lonely and weak.

Relieve me of my worries

and save me from all my troubles.

Consider my distress and suffering

and forgive all my sins.

See how many enemies I have;

see how much they hate me.

Protect me and save me;

keep me from defeat.

I come to you for safety.

May my goodness and honestly

preserve me,

because I trust in you.

I JOHN 4:16-18

God is love, and whoever lives in love lives in union with God and God lives in union with him. Love is made perfect in us in order that we may have courage on the Judgment Day; and we will have it because our life in this world is the same Christ's. There is no fear in love; perfect love drives out all fear. So then, love has not been made perfect in anyone who is afraid, because fear has to do with punishment.
