Where To Buy Affordable, Comfortable, and Hip Maternity Wear
76When I got pregnant a friend of mine gave me a basketful of maternity wear. She has always had good shopping taste, but it appears that it went out the window when she was pregnant.
Out of the many different tops and bottoms she gave me, I was able to wear only a few because the rest were just unappealing unattractive pregnancy clothes.
I ended up shopping for most of my clothes and learned quite a bit about the popular choices for affordable maternity wear.
OLD NAVY Maternity For The Comfortable and Classic Maternity Wear
Nothing beats Old Navy Maternity for comfortable maternity wear. Their style choices may be limited by their color choices are not.
My favorites for my maternity wardrobe were the perfect fit maternity T-shirts but truly all of their t-shirt options fit well. My biggest complaint with maternity t-shirts are that they are either too tight, too loose, or too short. Old Navy has all of these problem areas covered. Literally. Their t-shirts fit the way they would if I was not pregnant and give a smooth pleasant look to my growing pregnant belly.
There are so many color choices. I had multiples or white and black, and at least one of 5 other different colors. These were my staple clothing piece. If I wasn't going out somewhere fancy I was always wearing these inside and outside of the house. The normal price is about
In addition to the perfect T-Shirt, Old Navy also has the best lounge wear. Their fleece and cotton pants and zip up hoodies are a great way to stay comfy and look cute at the same time.
They have some great dressier options for maternity clothes and they've got you covered for maternity jeans. Cami's are essential for growing breasts to hold them up but give them growing space. Old Navy is a great place for these.
JCPenny Maternity For Dressier Maternity Clothes
The selection for maternity clothes at JCPenny's is great for pregnant working moms. Their choices are sophisticated and classy. No more blouses with ducks, instead you'll find affordable work clothes with the same in style elegance you were wearing before you got pregnant.
There are many places to get dressy maternity clothes, but none that have the affordable prices you will find at JCPennys. So long as you always buy the sale price, you'll always be getting a good deal for good quality long lasting maternity wear. Don't forget to accessorize. A new Kate Spade Handbag will not only compliment your new pregnancy look, it can also make you feel like your still as sophisticated as ever, even if just a little larger.

Motherhood Maternity
I made quite a few of my first maternity clothing purchases at Motherhood Maternity. I loved many of the styles for tops but my biggest complaint would be shrinkage and quality. Every top I bought here shrunk and I always had to buy a size up from what fit in the store. Loose strands were also a problem for some of my tops. I did love the built in bra tank tops.
My favorite part about this store though was the deals. Especially the clearance rack. Up to 90% off is a big deal when you want to be spending all your money on baby stuff and not temporary big belly clothing.
Because there clothes were so cute, I did still purchase a few pieces for certian events. I just happened to have my baby shower on the hottest day of the year and having a cute tank top that fit well was a lifesaver. The pattern was hip but the feeling was comfort.
I would'nt recommend all purchases here, but if you see something you can't live without, buy it on sale and buy it a size bigger.

djtphn1 - I am sorry for your loss :(
Thanks for the tips! Good to know before I decide to become pregnant. I wonder if Old Navy has maternity clothes fit for a mortician :)
I hated maternity clothes... I couldn't find anything nice or sexy when I was pregnant. It looks like you managed to find some nice gear :-)

We have a place in the mall here called "A Pea in the Pod", very cute stuff. I recently lost a baby, very sad. I was looking forward to wearing these once again. Anyway, thanks for the hub.
