Are the 60s and the 80s any Different Today?

The O'Jays came in the 80's and asked how old will you be in the year 2000 and what the world will be like. In most places in the world families lived in fear when the idea of the new millenium was mentioned. In some cases people withdrew all their savings in the banks before the year 2000. It would be very interesting to establish the birth rate of the year 2000, with so many anticipating the end of the world.

The world keeps turning around. The truth is said to be lies, the future becomes the past. The majority still does not rule. Though a lot appear to have changed at face value, has the human kind changed? When you look at the past, music and sport played a significant role in uniting the nations and the divided culture. Though Elvis Presley was doing well in the white community, the music of the Temptations as well as those of Nat King Cole also crossed the boundaries and was enjoyed by any connoisseur.

When the Olympics began, the elements of the war were partly forgotten and everyone enjoyed representing their country and was proud. Though some elements remained but the spirit of the games never failed. Today though it all seems to be mostly about the money and the pride is lost.

Thank you Peggy W for your comment. It only take one person to make the difference. The world suddenly becomes a small theatre.
