The Perfect Workout
The Perfect Workout Program? Now that's a BIG ask.
The concept of a perfect workout has to begin with the major contributor to good health and a lean body, and the answer to that my friends is what goes into your mouth.
It is estimated that 60% (that's almost two thirds of the total) make up of your body's success in regards to health and fitness is due to what you eat.
That means that if you exercise like a maniac but eat like a pig, you will still end up looking like a pig (over time, that is). So before you even consider the perfect workout plan perhaps we should look at what goes down the throat of the average person.
So What do we eat anyway?
If you are a keen observer of what people buy in the supermarket you will see why we are in big trouble as a community in regard to obesity and real health challenges. The biggest selling item by far is Coca Cola™. You've got to admire the marketing genius of Coke. How is it that people drink it? It is full of sugar or artificial sweeteners (which are worse), it is acid to the point where it will soften enamel and dissolve teeth. It has no nutrients and in fact will leach whatever vitamins and minerals we have away from us. How it is allowed to be sold defies all logic to me, but that's free enterprise and big business might for you.
The other big sellers in a supermarket are things like potato chips, biscuits, cookies, sauces, processed and packaged foods, white bread, cakes, lollies, and the list goes on and on. Is it any wonder we are in a health crisis when these are the major foods of choice?.
I could go on and on about this as it is a passion of mine. But needless to say we need to eat healthier most of the time and keep bad things to a minimum.
I have written an article about foods and health tips in general so I'll give that link now, its... http://improvehealth.wordpress.com
So to Exercise...
Now the perfect workout for a beginner may be to walk a bit each day and build it up to where you can run a bit.
For another person it may be aerobics for 20 minutes a day, 6 days a week with some weight training occasionally.
Or Pilate's, Turbo Jam, or Billy Blanks exercise DVD's, dancing or Kung Fu, the possibilities are endless and a lot of fun.
For another it may be water skiing or bike riding, or basketball practice.
The perfect workout can be whatever you make it. But you do need to work at it in one form or another and we need to use wisdom and care in not overdoing it.
The other big point about physical workouts is that they need to be regular. You definitely can't stop and goof off all the time, you need to find something you can enjoy or change to something else if you get bored.
So to conclude, there is no Perfect Workout, but there may be a great workout for you, and it may start with what goes into your mouth. This is the real challenge we face, more so than finding the exercise program to suit us right now.
Sorry to be the bearer of sober news, but what we eat is so much a part of the problem, that this is the place where we really need to start. With Diabetes affecting a large part of the population, with obesity becoming an epidemic we have to do something and do it now!
One thing that helped me get in reasonable shape was being able to put more time into my exercise routines regularly. How did I manage that you ask? I cheated, I gave up going to work and made more money at home with a home business. If you want to learn about how you could do it too, my web site explains how I work at home. There is a better way then 9 to 5!

Hi Rod,
You make me feel so guilty! If you look up exercise in the dictionary you won't find my name!
Thanks for the reminder.
