Promotional merchandise is a great way of getting your company's name out and about.  Cheap and highly effective, you can choose from a massive range of gadgets, clothing, stationery in fact almost anything can be turned into a promotional tool.

There are plenty of companies around that offer great services when it comes to promoting your business. The internet is a great place to start your search as many companies will send you samples of their products at the click of a button, meaning you can get a good feel for what might work for you. It's always worth thinking about why you want to promote your business and then who you want to promote it too. It's no good getting a whole bunch of promotional baseball caps printed up when the people you want to target are not the baseball cap wearing types!

It might be that you want to get stationery printed up for your sales team so they are constantly promoting the business, with plenty of spares to send customers away with - everyone loves a free pen afterall. If you are holding a big event, like a race day, then you might want to have a whole range of products for sale with the details of the day etc on them. Promotional t-shirts, pens, promotional magnets, umbrellas even keyrings are all great sellers. Think about the image you want to potray, do you want a simple logo or would you rather have graphics, or a mixture of both. Remember anything is possible, but you don't want to risk losing the impact of your promotional merchandise by over-egging it. Think about things that are useful - keyrings are always good as they are used on a daily basis. Tote bags are also very popular and have the added benefit of being a walking advert while they are in use.

Just remember, whatever type of promotional merchandise you decide to go for, make sure it promotes your business in a style you are happy with and that it is long-lasting. There is nothing worse that using something a couple of times and finding the print is wearing off, or getting promotional coffee mugs out of the dishwasher to find the colours have faded and it certainly doesn't give a good impression of your business.
