Where is David? Lavender, Cossu and Save Puget Sound

David swings further west, if possible!
What is west of Seattle you might ask? If you thought, "Pacific Ocean" you are wrong, wrong, wrong! There is an entire Olympic Peninsula waiting to be explored and cyclist David Shirley is determined to explore it.
Amanda Severn knows I have not been there, because on one of her lavender hubs, I admitted I had never seen lavender grow in fields. Well, Amanda, Sequim, Washington claims to be Lavender Capital of North America! I guess I'd better mark my calendar for the Sequim Lavender Festival to be held July 16-18, 2010. I do love lavender.

Puget Sound "Silent Crisis"
Puget Sound is in trouble. View the photos found on the Puget Sound Partnership site and you will discover all that glitters in the Sound is not sparkling water. One jazz musician has taken its plight to heart: Scott Cossu.
According to a website titled People for Puget Sound:
His latest work, “Tides Between Us,” debuted in July at number 33 on the Top 100 New Age/Ambient/World Radio/Internet Airwaves chart.
The title reflects an inspiration for the music – a liquid, flowing quality. “I try to have a lot of movement, a fluidity of the music,” he said.
It also reflects a concern with the environment that is dear to the pianist’s heart.
“I decided to dedicate this recording to cleaning up Puget Sound,” he said. “I’m donating a portion of the proceeds to the environmental group People for Puget Sound.”
Scott Cossu, Puget Sound Partnership, People for Puget Sound, the Orca Network... all working on behalf of one body of water that extends into the world of waters.

There is a UN conference coming up soon on environment and emission control ... and there is much heated discussion taking place in India as a prelude to that.
