Where is that Socialist Obama's Birth Certificate?
78OR: Did Glenn Beck rape and murder a young woman in 1990?
Recently, I was involved in a discussion with a fellow Hubber regarding the loss of wages, jobs, etc. in America. His answers didn't seem to relate to my points (that deregulation and "Free" Trade were more to blame than Unions for our current mess), and he kept dropping names like George Soros, Radhke <sic>, ACORN, SEIU, Apollo Allience <sic>, etc. He also made the claim that President Obama "has done everything he can to make it worth less <sic>," referring to the US dollar.
Apparently, he got this information from one Glenn Beck, of Fox News. He also said that the Mainstream Media didn't want to touch the ACORN scandal, that George Soros was involved with Unions, Socialist, and Communistic organizations--like ACORN, SEIU, and the Apollo Alliance--etc.
The gist of his arguments was that George Soros and President Obama were Socialists conspiring to make America a Socialist Nation. Rather than scoff at his remarks, I diligently spent hours researching his claims, and found that most simply did not hold ANY water, and the ones that did still leaked quite a bit. One point supposedly made by Beck would have required time travel. Another potentially accuses a US congressman of being part of a indigenous terrorist group that declared war on the US government from 1969-1973--while he was ages 2-8! Two-year-old terrorists and time-travel...OH MY!
Glenn Beck (and a host of others like him) are petty demagogues who spew advertiser-approved performances nightly which are based on about as much fact as any other comedy skit. They rile up emotions through half-truths and lies. When I was told that I should "watch Glenn Beck," I began my reply as follows:
"I will not watch nor listen to Glenn Beck; I do not suffer the presence of fools."
These guys (and gals) know that the average American doesn't understand a d@mn&d thing about the world around them, they wrap their nonsense as "news," and know most people are too lazy too research the truth themselves. That if they say something with enough conviction, most people will believe whatever they are told. They are charlatans and con-artists. They spin half-truth and whole-cloth lie as reality, often asking that someone prove that they are not something. Here's a few examples:

This is a curious, and baseless accusation. Think about the following for a moment:
The President is a multi-millionaire, as are most members of Congress. He earned his money in a Capitalist system by applying the principles of Capitalism. Soros made his money through (sometimes insider) trading on the stock market, and through copious amounts of good ole traditional Capitalist ventures. It's really hard to make that kind of money in a Capitalist society without being a serious Capitalist. All millionaires in the US are de facto Capitalists, in fact, they are the definition of Capitalists. The fact that they want those less fortunate then themselves (hey, we can't all go to Harvard) to have basic healthcare does not make them Socialists...It makes them Human.
What does President Obama have to hide? After all, he won't give the American people his birth certificate.
Actually, he did.
The State of Hawaii issued a "Certificate of Live Birth" stating the date and location of his birth.
The Secretary of State of the State of Hawaii has verified it.
The Secretary of State of the State of Illinois has verified it.
The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court has verified it.
Other elected and appointed officials across the nation have verified the document.
Is reading comprehension in this country so terrible that people don't understand that a "Certificate of Live Birth" is a "Birth Certificate?"
Regardless, the argument is moot. Since Obama's mother was an American citizen, he was naturally born an American citizen. She swore in an official document that he was born in Hawaii. Are people really so low as pick on the President's mother? Call her a liar and accuse her of perjury?
John McCain was not born on US soil, and yet, through the same method of determination, he was also naturally born an American citizen, even though his birth occurred in Panama. Don't believe this part? Verify it yourself...I did.
None of this matters to the "Birther" crowd. They heard it on the TV or the radio, or both, so it must be true.
Did Glenn Beck rape and murder a young woman in 1990?
I'm not saying that he did, but some say there is a rumor that he may have killed and raped a young woman in 1990. Holds about as much water as the above two claims, especially since...wait for it...Glenn Beck has never officially denied that he raped and killed a young woman in 1990.
Perhaps Glenn Beck is hiding something. What's more, he's never denied for a second that he the raped or killed anyone else in any other year. Could he be responsible for every rape and murder in US history? Could Glenn Beck be the real Jack the Ripper?
Follow the logic: We live in a universe of limitless possibilities, ergo, anything is possible, ergo everything is possible, ergo, it might be possible that some say Glenn Beck may or may not be a murdering rapist. Or a murdering rapist communist. Or a murdering rapist communist socialist pedophile. Why hasn't Glenn Beck submitted a certificate of live death for the girl some say he may have murdered, or at least produce the rape kit, which may or may not exist? Why won't he admit that he is a murdering rapist communist socialist pedophile?
What if, in an alternate universe, Glenn Beck is a murdering rapist communist socialist pedophile who kicks children on Tuesdays? Don't we deserve to know how the two Glenn Becks are connected?
What if someone that Glenn Beck met once committed a crime before or after their meeting, and then stomped a kitten? Shouldn't Glenn Beck take responsibility for the harm that those people may or may not have caused?
It might even be possible that some say Glenn Beck is a gerbil-demon worshiper bent on enslaving the entire human race for his evil murdering rapist communist socialist pedophile masters who toss puppies from the tops of mountains in their infernal homelands every Thursday at tea time.
Oh, the Humanity! Think of the children, think of the puppies, think of the kittens!
Think any of this is true? Then you should probably be watching Glenn Beck.
Does Glenn Beck believe that if he's a good boy, that when he dies he might actually become a god himself?

Sorry for bringing that last bit of truth. I know its inappropriate to attack someone for what they actually believe or do or even say. Its much more fun to take things out of context, apply the sins of their associates to the people we don't really want to like, or better yet, make it up as we going along.
Remember, whatever goes in your ears tends to come out of your mouth...Do not suffer the words of a fool, lest you claim time-traveling terrorist two-year-olds are what's wrong with the world today.

Jim, I don't even know who Glen Beck is, and I already suspect everything that comes out of his mouth! Seriously though, this whole Obama and Socialism thing is, as you say, beyond ridiculous. People need to check their dictionaries before they started hurling around words that they don't understand. I enjoyed the hub BTW. All those puppies and kittens - very funny!

Glenn Beck, for those who don't know, is a sensitive soul, who likes to cry. The tears streaming down his face are from irritants spread across his cheek bones so that he can show us how serious he is on various issues.
He's also as loony as Charles Manson sucking on Fruit Loops upside-down through a Crazy Straw while humming "They're coming to take me away, ha! Ha!"
His entire show is spent interviewing people who are not on his program, asking people who aren't there questions and complaining that they won't answer the question...even though they aren't on the program.
The crazy Glenn Beck theory that I find will best illustrate the lunacy of Beck was from a show in August of this year and is: that part of Obama'a plan to take over America is to have Obama killed!
Most people would assume that being elected President would automatically mean that you took over the country--But such simple logic does not fool the powerful intellect of Glenn Beck! Some how, taking over the country wasn't taking over the country, and so now Obama has to have himself assassinated to take over the country. And no one will provide him any answers about why Obama wants to have Obama killed...

You've certainly captured the techniques of Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh and many of the other right wingnuts, Jim. I'm sure you enjoyed writing this fun hub, but, personally, I find it impossible these days to listen to utterly stupid commentary on radio or TV. I've learned to turn a deaf ear to their idiotic diatribes.

It is SO difficult to watch "pundits," let alone right wing diatribes by Beck, etc. I yearn for journalism with actual sources, based on what is important rather than what some marketing wienie says will sell. I yearn for journalistic ethics unencumbered by "morality," aka corporate taint.
On an aside, I write nothing I cannot personally attest to without finding at least two to four sources, except articles listed as "comedy" or "satire."

Believe it or not there was a time when I actually respected Glenn Beck. Granted, that was some years ago, when he first told his story about stopping drinking and turning his life around. Now he seems to be just spinning his life around, and spewing out whatever seems to get headlines, ratings and seems to bring about the most controversy.
Keith Olbermann calls him Lonesome Roads after the Andy Griffith character in the movie "Face in a Crowd". But I think Beck is really sincere in his desire to push past Limbaugh, and that somehow, delusionally, he actually believes his rhetoric.
As to the birther crap, I was told, on good authority by a friend of mine, that he had proof that Obama's mother sent a letter from Kenya that she wanted Barack to be a U.S. citizen even though he was born in Kenya. And this proof was on an internet site written by a renouwned expert in U.S. citizenship and how one qualifies for being a U.S. citizen. Funny that the letter they show does not match Barack Obama's mother's handwriting and has been debunked by an FBI handwriting expert. Oh well, never let the facts get in the way of a good lie!
Well, Hawaii and all other states do not accept letters of birth from mothers as proof of live birth, and they never have. They get their info directly from the hospital, and therefore if no hospital in Hawaii sent the state a notice of live birth, then no record would be generated.
Here in Illinois I have a registration of live birth that is my birth certificate. The one the state has on file is just a file card with info about time & place of birth. Rather dull, actually, but I have seen it, all faded, crumpled and yellow.
However, this was way too logical and reasonable for this person and he said I was obviously "in the tank" for Obama. I guess pointing out the truth puts me in the tank, while making wild stories with no truth to them makes me a "patriot" and hero.
I'll choose to stick to the facts, thanks, very much!

Wait a second Chef Jeff, since you are supporting the President of the United States of America you would, under normal circumstances, be considered a de facto Patriot, but this one has a funny sounding name to some people, is called a Liberal (you know, the word with the same root as Liberty), and he's at least half black (actually, more like half-brown, but still), so I guess we can all make an exception.
Now, if you profess to love our country, but actually like our President, I suggest you move to Cuba or Iran or somewhere else that a brown person can run things and leave the Americaning to real Americans who don't support our system of free elections and wish to elect corporations to run our government.
Sorry about that Chef, I just get so frustrated by the nonsense media sometimes that I devolve into frothing absurdity--kind of like Glenn Beck.
