Webkinz Whimsy Dragon - the plush pink "Whimsical" Webkinz Dragon - is one of the new Webkinz for 2008 and has been creating quite a stir!

The main problem seems to be, "Where can I buy Webkinz Whimsy Dragon for a good price?"

Webkinz Whimsy Dragon: The Rumors and the Price

This year there has been a lot of noise involving Ganz running out of a fabric to manufacture Whimsy Dragon, which created a "shortage". This "shortage" seems to have driven the price up for the sweet little pink Webkinz Dragon. There was also a rumor that the Webkinz Dragon was retired.

These seem to have been simply rumors. I have no idea who started them, but a regular on a Webkinz forum actually checked it out by calling Ganz directly and finding out that there was no such lack of fabric, and no shortage of Whimsy Dragons. Yikes. :-(

Also - If you check directly on the Webkinz World site, you will see that there is no "Retired" label associated with Whimsy Dragon whatsoever.

OK, at any rate, those rumors seem to have been quieted, and the price for Whimsy Dragon is back in line - where it should be (October, 2008). We may still find some "ups and downs" with the price for a bit of time, but probably not for long.

I have seen Whimsy Dragon priced up to $50.00 on some websites! If and when you see a price like that, just don't bite - it's not necessary to pay such a high price for the Webkinz Dragon! (Even if it is adorable. :-) ) 

You might also see it being advertised as "Rare!" I guess that they could be considered to be "rare" or "hard to find" in regular retail stores (they run out of stock quickly simply because Whimsy Dragon is popular) - but it's not actually rare or hard to find at all when looking online.
