Looking for free baby hat knitting patterns? Check out some of the best
If you're looking for baby hat patterns with an interesting twist -- whether for your own bundle of joy, someone else's, or your favorite baby themed charity -- we have the patterns for you. There are so many fun patterns online it's hard to choose between them -- but these seven are sure to make you smile.
Be sure to check out some of my favorite baby hat patterns as well as tons of other free knitting patterns for charity knitting.
1. Penguin hat
Come on.
Haven't you always wanted your little
one to walk around with a penguin on his head? Well, if you haven't, the
pictures that go with this free pattern are sure to change your mind. Not only
is this a free, simple pattern, it's whimsical, practical, and easy to wear.
From
the same site comes the polar opposite of the penguin hat (no pun intended). A garden-type hat with a huge daisy perched on
top. Like many baby hat patterns, this one manages to combine practicality with
the "it's so cute!" factor. Knit up a penguin for your little boy and
a daisy for your little girl -- or reverse them, if that's what they prefer.
For
some reason, I've always had a fascination with court jesters -- especially
their clothing. And this adorable hat makes me think right away of a jester.
The pattern is free, and you can make it with all sorts of interesting patterns
and colors -- the pattern itself calls for Crayola colored merino wool, but use
your imagination.
4. Bunny Beanie
Since Easter's coming up (or you just have a thing for rabbits), you'll love this
rabbit eared cap for babies. Made from soft white wool with too-cute stick up
ears, this hat will make sure baby is warm, comfy, and adorable.
5. Moe
This
isn't one of the more unique baby hat patterns I've seen. What makes it special
is the combination of wools, which creates a fuzzy, super-sweet mix. Whether
you're dolling up or looking to emphasize your little man, this hat is a
surefire winner.
6. Baby Beanie
This is
one of my favorite baby hat patterns. Even though it's not particularly unusual
or unique, it has a whole bunch of things going for it. It's light enough for summer, spring, and
fall, it's machine washable, and it has a lot of stretch...meaning baby won't
outgrow it in a matter of weeks like he does everything else.
7. Earflap Hats
This is
a perfect pattern for someone who likes their hats a bit more on the plain and
traditional side, but still wants to add a bit of flair. The ear flaps add a
little interest -- just enough, in fact, to separate it from all the other baby
hats out there.
And there you have it! Seven of the very best baby hat patterns on the Internet!
