Where to find free pictures to use in articles.

Like most things in life once you know how do do something things become easy. The same can be true with getting photo's.
The easiest way of getting topic photos is to type the topic or subject into Google. Then click search and it will come up with written material about the topic. At this point in time you can click on a bar at the top which says images. you then click on that and usually you will be given hundreds of images to choose from. then you right click your mouse choose to save the picture in save as. Then you go to the site you want to download the picture to click on browse the save as pictures will come up you double -click on that and then upload to the site you want. Hope that was clear enough for you.
One thing you need to be carefull of is copyright. If the picture has the atribution creative commons it means that you are allowed to use it for ordinary things like blogs. It is not meant for widespread commercial use.
Another way to get photos is to go to Flickr.com & open an account also Photo-bucket.com both these site host images and are free unless you want to upgrade them to more uses. the images usually can be shared...
hope this helps...

SunSeven I was responding to a request but yes you can of course be included..
Thank you for the information, but I do not think the photos you find on Google via the image search are available for use in articles (for your profit), if I am incorrect I would like to know. I had not heard of Flickr I will check that out.
Thanks
You might also want to check out this site :)
I've been doing the google way for awhile, but thanks for taking the time to put this out there for people.
Lizbeth if the photo's cannot be copied they usually say at the bottom of the picture. Also a lot of them now void to a blank when you try to copy them per se but there are still a lot of non copyrighted photos out there...
Lizybeth, if you are worried about copyrights, and I tend to be, as I have some training in graphics and people can get fussy about using their photos without permission, check out my article for teachers over here. http://hubpages.com/hub/Free-educational-cliparts-

Lizybeth,
Be careful about just taking images from Google searches. A friend of mine in business used an image of a road - very plain and ordinary - on his small business website.
A couple of years later, he got a solicitors letter from the Getty organisation who own the copyright of the picture he used. It cost him £2,000 to cover. That's about $4,000 at current US exchange rates.
I use http://www.sxc.hu/index.phtml which have completely free to use images on it. There are great images and lots of them.
Sometimes you have to credit the photographer when using it, but not many of them ask that.
Cheers,
MidnightPiper
yes well using it for a business almost goes without saying in facr everything you do in business may be subjected to copyright. There are sharks out there trying to extract money from innocent well meaning poeple. THANks for your comment !
I've actually been looking for this information. Thanks man.
Using google doesnt provide you with free images. Most of the images in google are owned by a person, company or organization. To use these items without permission of the author can land you in trouble.
Thanks Augustus that is what midnightpepper said. Point taken !

Hi Barry,
I have published a series of free photos hus for hubbers. You can find them by searching 'free photos'. I think, if you can include those links here in this hub it will be more useful for all hubbers.
Best Regards
