I originally started this with writers in mind, but the principles apply to any business owners.
Okay you know that you are talented. You know that you have a hot topic. You may have spent money on creating a wonderful webpage or blog.
The problem is "Where's the money?"
The answer is simple "It's still in the pockets of potential readers." Two things are primary factors on in successful selling online. One is Copy Writing. The other is Traffic Generation. This post isn't going to talk about Copy Writing. I'll do that at another time.
Being writers and not internet marketers some of things you experience on the internet seem like Greek. But, learning the basics of how traffic generation is crucial if you want to position yourself in front of a cash rich audience without having to do a great deal of social networking.
Getting people to see the wonderful copy which is going to get them subscribed up and buy your book, articles or magazines is what SEO is all about.
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. What that means is that websites have a few things done to them that make the Search Engines like Google and Yahoo put them on higher pages.
"Exactly what is a search engine? Basically, a search engine is a software program that searches for sites based on the words that you designate as search terms. Search engines look through their own databases of information in order to find what it is that you are looking for." writes Wendy Boswell in the article "What is a Search Engine"
It has to do with how you title your page. It has to do with what "tags" and "keywords" you use. A tag aka "meta" is a computer instructions that search engines use to help people find what they are looking for. Keywords are words you use to describe which your page contains.
I've found a great course that teaches people the ins and out of SEO and turning visitors into cash. Its' called "SEO Traffic Videos" It contains everything a beginner needs to drive more traffic to your webpage, blog or articles.
