Which Companies are in TROUBLE?
75The lines will continue to grow unfortunately for the unemployed.
What to expect in 2009..............
There are certain companies that is in some serious trouble in 2009. I will compile a list of corporations and companies who should expect either bankruptcy or severe financial losses this year.
Below are listed the companies that are in bad shape, I will also provide a brief description and outlook of each one.
Caterpillar: Struggled in 2008 and just cut 20,000 jobs on January 2009. The days are numbered for this construction company, expect more losses this year.
Home Depot: Lost 7,000 jobs this year already and will continue until the end of the year.
Sprint Nextel: Has 8,000 jobs now lost and things will get even worst. Could be potentially bought out by the end of 2009.
Apple: Steve Joos, has stepped down and I expect the profits too as well. Don't invest in Apple in 2009.
Circuit City: Is 100% bankrupt which was declared on 1/16/09. 34,000 jobs completely lost.
Chrysler: These company needs a bailout and won't get it. Expect Chrysler to disappear completely from the auto industry in the begginning in 2010.
Sirius: No way this company will stay float especially with car sales on the rapid decline. Could be bought out altogether.
AIG: Go down already! Insurance Company that got bailed out, but it barely helped. This ship is sinking and will sink by season's end.
Rite Aid: Will be hurt badly this year but I predict will stay float. Expect several big cuts throughout the year from staff.
Pier 1: Now that the holiday season is over, this company will start to shut down. Levitz also will join this company heading out the door for good.
Nortel: The service isn't in demand and the company is feeling it. Has potential to go bankrupt by the end of the year.
KB Stores: 356 stores are closing, don't expect this store to be around in 2010.
Finally, expect online shopping to increase and it isn't all that bad. EBay should flourish from a poor and weak retail economy. Poeple want to save and will find themsleves more often or not on the computer shopping for deals. I expect several other companies to be in trouble for 2009, but I was only able to list the major companies of concern.
If you as consumers believe and show hope in the economy, I expect a full turn around at some point in 2010. But 2009, my friends will be one to forget. Expect the job losses to continue, the unemployment to rise, and the profits of many companies to fall hard.
