Which Foods Cause Eczema?

A Brief Explanation Of The Causes Of Eczema
I'm going to start and end this HUB with the same statement "Doctors Can Not Cure Eczema". There are several internal and external elements that trigger Eczema, none of which doctors can not control.
There are internal factors like heredity and stress. Eczema usually goes hand in hand with other allergies like hay fever. If your parents were easily susceptible to allergies then it has been passed down to you and demonstrated its self in various ways such as rashes and pollen allergies. To make matters worse, if you suffer from Eczema, it takes nothing more then a stressful day to bring on an outbreak.
Then there are the external factors. Detergents, soaps, airborn particles, feathers, dust, pet hair, grass, and the cloths you ware all can make matters worse. Most scenting agents added to toiletries and cleaners can ruin ones day. And common sense dictates that you should not ware tight cloths, or thing made of synthetics or wool. 100% cotton is the only way to go.
With that in mind, wrap your brain around that fact that the main reason a person has eczema is because the immune system is malfunctioning. Therefore, the best way combat your eczema is to repair the immune system.
So Which Foods Do Cause Eczema?
You have very little or no control over the two factors listed above, but the 3rd element you DO have control over... What you eat!
Every ones back ground, chemistry, immune system is different so what effects one person may not effect the next. At the same time, about any food can cause an allergic reaction. Though I do say that modern medicine can not cure Eczema, that does not mean to ignore your doctors advice. Maybe use there prescriptions to treat the symptoms while you tackle it from the inside. A nutritionist would be recommended when you start a regiment to eliminate or track down exactly what your hot buttons are.
There are two ways to face this task. One is the elimination diet where you eliminate all foods but maybe salads and start adding food group back into your diet one at a time until something sets you off. The other is to just eliminate one for a whole week or two to track at what point the symptoms subsided.
With that said, lets look at which foods are the most common culprits:
1) Dairy products
Dairy can account for about 75% of problems related to Eczema. Things like milk (mostly cows milk) and all the foods containing milk, such as butter, cheese, yogurt and cream. Even chocolate and salad dressings. That could mean even though your eating just salads, you can;t go with the creamy Italian.
2) Wheat products
Nearly 1 in 7 people are effected by wheat / flour. All breads and cereals. This includes pancakes, donuts, crackers, etc... Many people would not even consider this, but beverages like beer and root beer are also make with wheat products.
3) Acidic fruit
Most fruits are beneficial like grapes (or grape seed oil) which are high in antioxidants. On the other hand, there are problematic fruits like blueberries, cranberries, plumbs and prunes that are high in acid. .
Side note: The total 'acidic content' of the body will trigger Eczema along with various other ailments. It is harmful in many ways. Products like Kelp supplements are high in alkali - which can counter act the acid levels.
4) Eggs
5) Sea food
While seafood can be
considered healthy for 'regular folks', Just about any seafood can be
detrimental to the eczema sufferer - I.E. scaly fish, lobster, crab,
clams, mussels, oysters, etc ...
6) Nuts
We've all heard stories of, or know some child that is so allergic to peanuts that even the smell can send them into a coma. This is an extreme case, but none the less, nuts can be a huge suspect! So be leery of almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts, pistachios, cashews.

So What Next?
What you eat is SO critical to your heath! Many times, (as when you head down the path of finding which foods are causing your Eczema) you will find that other smaller ailments will fade away. --WHY?-- Because you have started the healing processes in the immune system.
But that is just the beginning...
How far could you take it? It is some what illegal to use "natural" and "cure" in the same claim, but if you could get rid of your Eczema, what else could you rid yourself of? Diabetes, Heart Disease, even Cancer??? Recent legislation forbids me to make such a claim, but the testimonials never stop, and how can you dispute thousands of years of "natural remedies"?
I do not condone ignoring your doctors advise! We need them to monitor our progress :-) Again, Doctors can not cure your Eczema (along with several other diseases). When you are ready to take matters into your own hands, visit me at Natural Health.
