This is all glitz, I will dig out my real pics for this so you can see the real dorks before the makeup artists!!

Everybody has met someone famous, at least once even if it was just for a second in the airport or airplane. Although those  lucky enough to live in LA have probably met more. It's been my observation that while working the concert chain most of the 'rock stars' I met are very ordinary people exalted on stage who just want to make money! So share your brushes with fame and I'll add your name and experience. Maybe by the six degrees of separation some of us have met each other!

Amrog (Kent, OH & Boston, MA)

Art Alexakis (and the whole Everclear band) - Back in my days, I got lucky enough to befriend Art and chill at many rock shows with him backstage for over five years. This is mainly how I was able to network with bands so well, yet he still counts! Note: Not as a groupie, I can proudly say despite my many meetings and crushes, that is one thing I never did as it would kill the music! Art is very big hearted, and use to think of me more as a daughter I think, he got very mad when i got whacked by a crowd surfer once and threatened to beat up a gropy mascot at a Columbus soccer halftime show. Good guy though, always fun to be around. Craig, ok guy, mostly drunk and looking for girls, so his attention was always somewhere else backstage as I was not an option. Greg, big goofball. when i told him i pissed at the Washington art museum cause the concert was outside and i was afraid of the porta potties, he shared an anctedote of sneaking into the Washington theater as a child.

The Exies- So they were not that famous, but Scott and the crew are great guys with big hearts, enough to get them on MTV with My Goddess

Fallout Boys- Here is the one everyone knows, but back when they were 19/20, I saw them open in some of the shittiest clubs ever in small crowds of twenty while waiting to see other guys. In fact, Pete Wentz hit me in the head with his guitar during a sweep of the audience at Peabodys and at the old Hard Rock in Boston making them a painful memory, literally. (they are all under 5'6 in height and i am 5'10, dangerous combo!) Secrets to be told, Pete was kinda a snob back then too good luck Ashlee, but Pat is the sweetest although very shy!

Butch Walker- Underground artist, great guy, always a bit drunk. He has produced many people like Avril and Pink for money, but gets his kicks on the road. He's a real sweetheart also, I still go see his shows all the time.

The American Hi-Fi clan: nice band, one hit wonders after Flavour of the Week, but they are still around touring and Stacey and Jamie are wonderful people. The first drummer Drew was cool as what also, new drummer, I could no without, but maybe its cause he joined after their days of success.

Val Emmich- He's on the verge of popularity now as he is a regular on Ugly Betty. I think I use the word sweetheart too much, but he really is. painfully shy and never seems to look you in the eye, but will talk for hours once you get him going! I think its funny he is on TV, and its a good thing for contacts cause its a lot harder to get into his shows as his songs are starting to get radio play and hes moving up. Im happy for him, but hes my rock club show baby and I wish he could stay that way without popularity.

Maroon 5- Before they were famous opened for Everclear, didn't really say more then a Hello, but they seemed nice enough I suppose.

Smash Mouth- Same thing, Everclear openers, but I think they were on drugs so stayed clear, Art doesn't ride that boat.

Tom Brady- QB for the Patriots, wrote a story on the Pats when they won the Super Bowl in 04 for BU's newspaper, got a quote, but as I couldn't care less, I got the quote, made a story and got out of the party. I'm sure i met some of the other guys, but sports ain't my thing. Made my dad jealous

Johnny Resnik- A lot shorter in life. This one I had no connections too, simply met in the autograph line when i was young and connectless. Seemed nice.

Third Eye Blind gang- Very pre-occupied with themselves, and girls. nice enough, but not worthwhile really. Interesting note, Jenkins (lead singer) always sings barefoot on stage, every time Ive seen them. kinda funny.

Devo- ok, I haven't met them per say, but they are my dad's cousins and he used to drum with them, so close enough eh?

Anne Martin- When I was a kid my dream was to meet the Babysitters club author, seeing her and getting her autograph was my most treasured child hood memento.

Hm...ok that's about it. oddly enough, I don't think Ive head the luck to ever meet movie stars..but that's how it goes!

Share your experiences and let's see how much people get around on these boards!

Very cool hub. I never met any celebs in the flesh... but I did get to see a ton of them at that Madame Tussume... or tussands... I cannot remember, but it was a wax museum in NYC, and it was pretty damn cool. : )

Wow, you get around my friend. How were they? I imagine you could make quite a few people jealous on the Brett Micheals (for the wrong reasons) now that he has his VH1 stint. lol

I met Bret & C.C. in an elevator in Miami and they were very cool. I am a poison fan and it was about 8-10 years before Rock of Love. Alice Cooper was great. I was in Scottsdale AZ on vacation and he was just laying out by the pool. I waited till he was about to leave and introduced myself. We talked for 20 min and he was as nice a guy as you could meet.

John Denver was a douchebag. He was concerned about people taking his picture and acting like I was putting him out. I didn't give a shit though cuz...I mean, he's John Denver...who cares.

R. Kelly was the biggest prick ever. I had a meeting scheduled with him to talk about my CD and he completly blew me off. I had a limo pick him up, had a vip booth set up for him at this club in Chicago and had my CD playing when he arrived at the club. He had some girls with him and when I went to talk to him, he instructed security to not let me bother him. He looke right at me, knew who I was and pulled a fucking dick move.

Everyone else was alright.
