Hopefully you,ll start paying attention .

I have not been around hubpages as much lately . I took a foray Into It this weekend and wrote a hub . But over the last couple of weeks every time I look at the hubtivity page the forums seem to dominate which Is all well and good . However when I look at the content of the statements In those forums I just cringe as It Is either total ass kissing of the teamates of one party . Or a complete pissing contest by all parties Involved . I was just on one were the topic was the demise of the US economy and for the most part none of the content was pertinent to the topic at hand , which did not surprise me at all . In summation I think the forums are pretty stupid ! I just roll my eyes these days when I see the forum hubtivity page and for the most part decide to move on . And I can tell you who all the participants are but there Is no need ! Call me a killjoy. That Is not my Idea of fun . And I know here at hubpages we are all kinda wannabe writers artist etc. So I believe part of the objective here Is to have a little fun too. I have made a little money off It , but for me I just want to enjoy the experience of saying what I have to say and enjoying being a part of the online community here !

So that being said while the moronic statements are going on at the forums I wanted to tell you a couple of things that are going on that should concern you !

1. Saudi Arabia In conjunction with France , China , and Japan and Russia are now getting ready to drop the US Dollar as the currency of global trade and will be moving to the Yuan ,Yen and the eurodollar Instead . Bad for us probably good for the rest of the globe . Well we just had the embarrassment of last place for consideration for the olympics . And now are currency has basically been ruled worthless which If you go to the market these days you know how worthless It Is ! I guess those guys at the Fed do not need to keep churning out that worthless paper now ! Watch the stock market drop on 10-6-09 and watch the commodities market rise ! I know things are bad now , but folks ya better learn how to farm and sew.

2.The world bank whose job It Is to help out lower Income countries could run out of money In 12 months . according to Robert Zoellick President of the world bank .According to Mr Zoellick he will need an Influx of 3 to 5 billion to stay solvent . Maybe he should ask for a bailout too ! God knows I could use one and I am employed and Insured ! Which brings a question to mind for me . If all this money has dissapeared globally In the financial sectors , where did It go ? Now I generally hate to be one of those fatalists but I think this Is some cause for concern !Somebody has to have some funds hidden somewhere ! Maybe the Bilderburg group has It hidden In their mattresses . I found that little nugget In the London Telegraph . YIKES !!!

3 The Republicans are finally getting It right and are drafting a resolution for the ouster of Americas number 1 taxcheat Charles Rangel . This committee will be headed by Rep . John Carter of Texas and I say this Is long overdue . Mr Rangel somehow forgot about 4 million In assets that he did niot declare . ( OOOPS ! ) I guess I should not be so judgemental though . However I wrote a whole hub about this one . And as far as I am concerned Mr Rangel should be put before a firing squad . This Is the level of contempt I have for this man , as I think he Is the epitome of everything that Is corrupt and dirty about Capitol Hill . With Nancy Pelosi running a close second !

Now I realize that this Is not as much fun as taking shots at each other on the politics and religious forums . So If I Inconvenienced any of you with some critical Information you have my humblest apologies ! Feel Free to go back to those dumb forums ! Or better yet write something ! Later Hunbbers !!!

So much for that Big Mac !

Can a brother get a pack of gum with this ?

Tony, I too, paid attention to what has been going on and quite honestly, maybe America/Americans need to realize that there are new players to this global economy. The fact that the last 30 years foreign countries have been slowly eating away--financially and this economy or economic system will be in for a rude awakening.

Are we still on for that trip? I have decided to head to the UK one day soon? And to answer your question, no, $1.00 will not buy you a pack of gum--as it is now $1.29 to buy a pack of Wrigley's Double pack, double mint gum...

The United States of America doesn't have any money--it's all borrowed in the form of bonds we've sold to China, Saudi Arabia, etc... Just the interest we're paying goes into the hundreds of millions of dollars every day.

We've taken hundreds of billions of "borrowed" dollars, and used it to bail out banks, auto industries, and other financial institutions. Now we're going to "borrow" more money to create a trillion dollar health care entitlement plan.

When you have no money, and you continue to borrow and spend this "borrowed" money, the value of the money is devalued--which will lead to inflation.

Barack Obama is a socialist, who has absolutely no understanding of basic, free market economics. How could he? He's never taken a single economics course in his life, nor has he ever ran or managed any kind of business. If Barack Obama were to sit down one on one with the CEO's of America's top companies, he would be completely lost in the conversation. And the same can be applied ti his wanting to "review" the strategy in Afghanistan. What in the world does he know about military strategy?

Sadly, what we have in Barack Obama is a radical, left-wing, lawyer/politician. That's it. He's all mouth, and no substance--and he's going to do great damage to this Country.

I thought it was funny, Tony. Obama thought he could go to Copenhagen and use the same slick-talk he used to fool millions of Americans in getting elected president.

You're right, though. Obama's strings are being pulled by much more dangerous people, primarily died-in-the-wool socialists and Marxists. Have you heard about the czar who wants animals to be allowed to sue humans, and who thinks they should have human lawyers? Someone really needs to beat some sense into this guy. But it's people like this, and worse, that Obama has surrounded himself with. And as my mother used to say: "You are who you associate with."

This is all very interesting, but not that surprising. Why would the world want to use US dollars? I see no reason. We have mismanaged our money through so many Administrations, Republican and Democrat, that our claim to wise money management is pretty moot. But other than leave the country, what might be a wise move? In otherwords, tony0724, what best will allow you to be you, assuming financial viability is part of being you? (And no, I do not claim to be savvy in the slightest. I am at hubpages because I like to write my stuff and to learn. That is all.)

Tony, it's funny that the web of deceit is a far reaching one. The more I dig, the more info I have found about who the real Obama is. (I'm not trying to promote my hubs) but the web keeps leading me in dangerous directions. Each czar is linked to a larger organization, and they are all related to each other. I have held off writting the things I have uncovered, because Obama's plan is just the tip of the iceburg.

Trevor Loudon from the Newzealand, has written extensively, about Patrick Gaspard, Obama's 'Glue' man, in following the links on just this man alone, it's mind bogling. I blamed it on Soros, but he is just the money man. Here is one of many links if anyone is interest.

I'll give you another example of Obama's lack of understanding basic economics: Cash for Clunkers.

We boosted car sales for one month, by robbing from the next. As soon as the program ended, car sales around the country fell through the floor. Obama and the Democrats took "borrowed" taxpayer money, and gave it to people to buy cars--not poor people, but people who were planning on buying a car in the near future anyway. Now we must pay the interest on this "borrowed" money.

Bush was not perfect; he expanded the size of government and was the originator of the auto bailouts. But he was a hell of a lot better than this slick-talking fool we've got in there now. "Change you can believe in?" We'll all be lucky to have any change left in our pockets by the time Obama's finished.

I guess as Misha said, there was no money that disappeared as these companies artificially valued commodities (like when the oil soared and gas cost over $4.00 a gallon). However, somebody does own the pieces of paper they sell back and forth to one another and the first guys that sold those overvalued yet worthless pieces of paper made plenty of do-re-me.

Oops, found this on Fox news when I googled for information:

The world's oil producers will continue using the U.S. dollar as the currency for buying and selling crude, high-ranking oil and finance officials in the Gulf said on Tuesday, denying a report in a British newspaper.

Earlier, The Independent reported that Gulf Arab states, as well as China, Russia, Japan and France, are in secret talks to end the use of the U.S. dollar to trade oil, causing the American currency to fall in overseas trading Tuesday.

Qatar's oil minister, Kuwait's finance minister and sources in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi central banks all denied the report.

Hi Tony - the proposed move away from the dollar for oil trading is still a proposal I believe, not a decision. But it's not just Saudi from the region. Tony, I saw that article in the Independant this week. You're right about there being so much more going on under our noses. People get very focussed in on the little details that interest them, and they somehow miss the big stories. You ask what happened to all the money, and Misha replied that the money wasn't real in the first place. He's right of course. It's easy to conjure up money, when money is no more than numbers on a bank statement. Perhaps if those figures represented actual hard cash, the world would have kept more of a handle on things. Blame it on the computers if you like!

And the forums? I haven't gone for a while for exactly the reasons you mention. I saw a weird one this morning in Parade magazine: The title was "Should unemployed people work for free?" It turns out Georgia has started a program where you work for 6 weeks on unemployment--the employer pays you nothing, it's kind of an 'audition'. You do get unemployment compensation during this time. About 58% of the free workers get hired, the rest don't. 17 other states are now looking at instituting the program.

I see good and bad on both sides of that, but lots of potential for abuse.

T-Man,

You pointed it out well, While we're all out yapping and dancing around the chicken coop, the foxes are stealing the eggs.

Nothing is inevitable, though as some here point out. If y'all think america is failing, what are you doing to stop it? Stand up and be active... starting...NOW!

Cheers!

Well Hello my friend, Tony! Now I see where you got to. Good to see you back. And no wonder I haven't been running into you, as I haven't been in the forums much either.

I know I got a little twinge in my stomach at the idea of losing the almighty dollar. But she ain't so almighty anymore. Maybe the whole world should go on the same currency -- replace the Euro with the Globo:-).

All I know today is at least the Dow is up over 10,000.

We're still in football season, which means life is tranquil in my house.

Aren't we supposed to be trusting God to take care of the rest?

TRG I do not mind telling you that I never miss an oppurtunity to writ my Congresswoman and Senators and let them know what a bunch of Idiots they are 1 I have them angry at me and that Is just the way I like It ! Apathy has been an American epidemic for a long time ! But now that we have been Introduced to adversity people are paying attention now ! Their big screen TVs no longer have them In a state of Indifference anymore , praise God !!

MM always good to hear from ya ! I do believe a one world currency Is an Inevitability at some point In the future as our Government has been selling America piece by piece for probably 35 years now . The Bilderberg group Is winning ! MM I still trust In God but It never disuades me from spouting off my opinion . And I love football season too ! MM always glad to hear from ya , love you my friend !!!

Okay Folks, remember when Bush came in and we had no deficit and actually money enough to give to everyone? He GAVE IT AWAY! Now we face the crises that has been ongoing for years and who do we blame? The guy that's been in office, what 9 months?

GracieLinda I feel that once Obama signed those stimulus packages he owned this economy ! The responsibility Is now on his shoulders , and 9 onths Is long enough to held accountable as a leader should be !

I respectfully disagree. This was in motion before Obama. I am on the fence about him, however I am not on Bush. Respecting a man in office who cannot speak english was a stretch for me. At least this msn is literate. Previous years, Rep. and Dem. alike are responsible for this mess and not just the Presidents. I look a President like a puppet. There is a lot of political turmoil they go through and their decision is not their own. No regulation where needed, although we thought we had it is cause for concern. That is why true regulation is neeed, esp in oil. No trust for anyone. Why should there be?

Oh yes, those stimulus packages are no more nor any less than what Bush did.

GracieLinda I am no fan of Dubya either and Iraq was the Impetus of my bolting from the Republican party . However as much of a dolt as Dubya was the deficit only approached a trillion over the 8 years of his disastrous stewardship . Obama In 9 months has left a guaranteed 10 trillion . And Bush Is yesterdays news and no longer relevant to any political discourse In 2009 . But I will agree with you that we can thank god for that ! Oh one more add . Jamie Gorelick who was a Clinton appointee was on the board of Fannie May and set most of the major policies that have us In the shape we are In today . In spite of the fact she had no real estate or business experience whatsoever .

And If literacy Is the criteria for a good President , I think decisiveness Is more Important . The General In Afghanistan told Obama almost 2 months ago that he needed a surge there . And In spite of that he still has not rendered a decision . We appoint Presidents to make the tough decisions and stick their neck out ! Because that Is what a real leader does .

But one last thing I do thank you for commenting and leaving your Input .

Tony:

If they aren't vetoed. that is. Once again, the congress and senate hold more sway.

If everyone with a decent idea and respect for the people in our nation were appointed that would be great but they never will be because of what? MONEY. The reason for the downfall in the first place. The whole problem is money and always will be.

GracieLinda on that point I cannot debate you . I concur that lobbyists are a major source of the problems that have beset us . I also believe that our elected officials put the Interests of their campaign contributors first and their constituency a distant second . Just today Barney Frank Insisted that he wants more Government In our lives on every level . I saw that on the Drudge Report today .

It Is exactly this type of thinking that makes me hope for all out anarchy ! Because for the longest time our major problem was apathy . Now that we have some serious adversity , people are starting to wake up ! I just hope Its not too late .

I don't think it is, if we ALL wake up. I have heard others that have preferred to stay asleep. Too bad, together we might DO something, otherwise, same old, same old.

GracieLinda then they deserve their fate ! I constantly hound my Senators and Congresswoman . And I want them to be scared ! People should not be afraid of their Government , a Government should be scared of Its people ! There are only roughly 550 of them , I say we throw em all out and reset with some new blood . They have all failed us !

Oh by the way GracieLinda thank you for becoming a fan!
