In an apparent wardrobe malfunction Whitney Houston's empire designed dress became unlatched in the back and revealed more of her than intended. The Reality Rocks website showed the photo of a surprised Whitney Houston reaching in the back of the gown in an attempt to snap it back up. The website stated that the dress still gave Whitney Houston more support than her ex-husband Bobby Brown ever did.

Whitney Houston was performing in Britain promoting her newly released album "I Look to You" when the mishap occurred. The popular song "I Did not Know My Own Strength" was also being promoted on her overseas tour being televised. The wardrobe malfunction that was televised live nearly threw off Whitney Houston's come back, her first tour since the divorce from husband Bobby Brown. Whitney Houston had a good attitude about the event and jokingly said that she had sang herself out of her clothes.

The name of the television show that televised the almost ill fated event was called the X-Factor. Whitney Houston had recently appeared on the Good Morning America show and the Oprah Show. On the Oprah Show Whitney revealed that Bobby Brown had abused and humiliated her in front of their daughter Christina. Whitney Houston decided to leave Bobby Brown when his womanizing was being broadcasted in the media of which her daughter had access to. Whitney Houston boarded a plane to Los Angeles with her daughter and that was the beginning of her divorce from Bobby Brown, a former member of the now disbanned R&B group, the New Edition.

The X-Factor show went on and Whitney Houston's wardrobe malfunction was not as advertised as Janet Jackson as the garment was made differently and was able to provide her support throughout the show.
